H/D hug challenge!!

You know what seems like a great idea right now??

A challenge (post-HBP-- preslash welcome) for short stories, something like....


    "15 Ways for Harry Potter to hug Draco Malfoy and live to tell about it"

    The 2 criteria would be: no shmoop or sap!! I mean this to be touching or funny or a bit sad, but not... y'know, fluffy, 'cause that'd mean it'd be stupid & OOC. Also-- no pre-established relationship fics, man-- that's the whole point!
    Deadline: something like.... August 30, that's literally 4 weeks from now >:D
    And! Artists also welcome! >:D!

I don't think I could easily come up with more than one. I mean, it is seriously a lot harder to get them to hug than to shag, I think, so I'm all excited :D


I mean, c'mon!!

There's been all sorts of rough sex and licking and fighting and so on in fic, but how often have they hugged???


...Oh, I'm a genius. And yeah, I'll prolly write one anyway ;)

I'm rather excited about you writing for it, though! I really love `Eclipse', too, so I wouldn't want it to cut in on happy-fic-time, but, yeah, the more the merrier >:D :D!!
Plus you could always finish it outside the challenge deadline limit, too-- I'd still link to it and/or put it up on any website I might possibly make :>

hey! i was lurking around over on stellabelle's lj and saw your post about the hug challenge. awesome. i might write something for it but i haven't gotten ahold of HBP yet (i had this crazy theory that if i waited to read it, then i wouldn't have to wait so long for the next one. and then i realized that that really waiting now or later, it's still PAIN AND SUFFERING! *ahem*. and i'm a cheapskate so i'm hoping someone will give me their copy after they've read it.)

you know, the "hug" thing reminds me a lot of A Guide to Better Hugging (http://gundamwing.fanworkrecs.com/fics/s/a_guide_to_better_hugging.htm) - a gundam wing yaoi fic, with another OTP of mine... it's a really good story even if you don't know the characters.

p.s. i think i've read some of your fic on the psa (under reena, right?) it's lovely. though "queer as malfoy" weirded me out a bit. but i love "the plot" (you prolly hear that a lot...) i love it because (1) draco coming to DA meetings, (2) "malfoy was like a goat", (3) the whole fucked-up harry/neville kiss, (4) harry's dark side and the power switches. you have some beautiful, original turns of phrase.

I did read that fic, btw-- I'd forgotten, but yeah, it was great :D A bit grittier with H/D, of course-- Heero's just reticent and psychotic and homicidal, but at least he likes Duo :))

I'm now wondering what freaked you about `Queer as Malfoy', though I realize that's a thorny, uncomfortable dynamic even for H&D in that fic... I think I just considered it something of a challenge to write them not-very-nice or sympathetic, in sort of a... rebellion against fandom I guess :>

And! Nah, people don't just randomly feedback me about `The Plot' or any other fic, so thank you :D I'm glad you liked the goat bit in particular, I'm proud of myself for that, ahahahah.
