you don't really want to know about my wackt encounter with a blast from the past, do you?? wibbling ahead. )
~~
i realized what this fandom needs is a comprehensive list of goodfic. i don't mean an on-going list of recs that gets updated. i mean-- we're an old fandom. we need to keep in touch with our past. heh. yes that's my topic for today. as if i had a topic. i mean, the ``classics" that no one ever links to or mentions anymore, assuming everyone's read it, been reading it, been there done that. well, people are still coming into this fandom who care about reading all the goodfic (preferrably h/d, i admit), that there is to read. and i'm not -too- worried about it being h/d, since old fic is probably gonna be h/d anyway ^^;;

so, if someone wanted to um. reply to this and gimme a few names. as many as you can remember. i'll compile it. not that anyone cares. no one ever does, about any of my Wouldn't It Be Swell ideas. oh, sure, others think it'll be swell, but no one's ever like, "yes, reena! why don't i help you out with that! here, why don't i become involved and make this happen, because i know you're too lazy, and i have been inspired..!" heh~:) oh well, too good to be true.
    still, to review, for those (like me), keeping track:

    - Reena's Brilliant Idea #1: community ([livejournal.com profile] slashersanon) for people who're desperate for reviews: everyone gets reviewed by everyone else. guarranteed. implicitly pledged by anyone signing up. no one shall ever want for reviews again. yes, the world is a brighter place, now. not.

    - Reena's Brilliant Idea #2: community ([livejournal.com profile] hp_newyork) for slash (especially h/d slash, but no matter) people in the new york area (tri-state or whole-country or city or anything, come one come all), to organize seeing CoS (premier) together. possibly slight con-type thing. something fun for everyone, etc. *sigh* i -know- there's a bunch of you around here. *pouts*

    - Reena's Brilliant Idea #3: idea for [livejournal.com profile] slashhpcon and elsewhere-- make a fanzine (paper), bi-annual, or annual, or what have you-- of the best of the best, for h/d (or other) fic and fan-art. zines are cool. bringing all the best (publishable-quality) writing and showcasing it and showing it around and leaving it lying around campus and elsewhere (watch my evil plans grow)-- uber-cool. yes. number of people who want to take any of this off my hands: 0. *sigh* oh well. it sucks to be progressive ;)

onwards.

obligatory links of the day (w00t): this image of a punk girl leaning against a wall really reminds me of why i like cities (the magic, i mean-- the magic). i dunno why. david heigho's comics are wrong, wrong, wrong. ha. someone who makes fun of jthm fans and x-men and so on while lovin' 'em himself, is my kind of person. yeah. um. nevermind, for my own benefit, then.
    [livejournal.com profile] johnwalton wrote a nummy severus/james & h/d fic (whee..! feeding my new `ship) time-twisting, predestination, lovers-lost-but-love-never-will stuff. snap.

"Shut up, boy, you're the one fucking a Malfoy," Severus shot back.
hee, hee.
~~
i wrote a gen(!) draco-centric drabble. i thought it was kinda crappy so i didn't post it but, but, [livejournal.com profile] puckmalfoy said she liked it, so-- i mean-- yes. here, then. (this is what happens when you combine the `crayola challenge' and the `armchair slash' seasonal challenge and reading a bunch of [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon and [livejournal.com profile] hackthis, not that i expect this is anything like their stuff, but i don't usually -do- exposition in quite this way. so. *wibble* yes.)

Burnt Orange-- strange. draco-centric. pg. )

this seems obvious. so hit me.

reading this post in [livejournal.com profile] nothingbutfic, it suddenly hit me. yes, he's right. whoah. there's no such thing as "shipping h/d"-- no one definition. every fic's harry/draco is going to be different-- it'll have similarities, sure, but it'll also have similarities with other pairings, just because you can characterize a lot of people similarly. it may not fit -as well-, but yes, there are a lot of different harry/draco's and it's a bit hypocritical to include them all when i say "that's my favorite romantic couple to read about." because with every fic, it's a slightly (or often, very) different couple.

...you can tell this is going to be rambly, can't you. )
