Britain is 16. Amusing story: prepubescent Irish girls all devour British teen magazines (don't know what your equivalent is, but titles like BlissJust Seventeen probably tell you all you need to know). The kind with lots of slang about 'Top Totty' and makeup ads and problem pages. The problem pages are all covered with faint pink letters saying "Remember sex under 16 is illegal".

In Ireland, sex under 17 is illegal. You'd be amazed at the amount of girls who have absolutely no idea. :D
