[this and... that. over there. yes.]
Jul. 4th, 2006 10:49 pmSeriously, I can't be the only person in this fandom that sees some potential goodness/thing of interest in like, every major HP character or potential relationship (rather than every pairing, hmf). I mean, whether or not they're well-written (and even moreso if they're not!!), I find the web of Potterverse relationships always interesting. So basically, Ginny may be a Mary-Sue and H/G an awful waste of space, but that just means that it's up to fanon to work harder with the raw potential. And I think of most possible het relationships as equally bleh in canon or most fanon, come to think of it. I mean, seriously-- most D/Hr? Bleh.
Ahhh, the world would be a wondrous place if only most things didn't suck. To wit, I love & adore
_ri's Draco/Hermione comic (which she's updating again!) even though I really can't take most people's het!Draco (or, well, slash either, but anyway). See, I think Draco totally has potential with both Ginny & Hermione, but it always totally sucks 'cause he's made into this smooth guy, whereas really the joy of it is watching either of those girls give as good as they get (and better... a lot better). It's just a fun snarky time! Yaye.
Also, I've found this R/S comic called 'Midnight Conversation' by
thistlerose & akabeko, and it's just beyond adorable. Man. I know it's uber-fluffy, but I am weak for well-done R/S fluff. Forgive me, higher powers. :S
Speaking of highly amusing things (...okay, and of 'seeing the goodness' in things), this page on Myers-Briggs personality types is... a little different.
The INFP is a dreamy, imaginitive, idealist, capable of finding the good in anything or anyone, even something as foul as Newark, New Jersey. INFPs are sometimes dangerous to the well-being of society as a whole, as they are prone to adopting subversive and destructive ideologies like "The world should be fair," "People should treat one another well," and "You know, 'Friends' is a really, really stupid television show."
These irrational thought patterns may sometimes cause INFPs to run off and join the circus, the Resistance, or the Rebellion, where they tend to do well in any position requiring excellent hand-eye coordination or mastery of the Force.
COMPATIBILITY: INFPs and ISTJs generally exhibit a natural predator/prey relationship, which, though it might appear harsh and cruel from the outside, is all part of the natural cycle of life. In fact, were it not for the predation of the ISTJ, the population of INFPs would soon grow to unsustainable levels, overwhelming the ability of their ecological niche to support them.
Famous idealists include that girl in your sixth-grade homeroom who got the teacher fired for saying that girls aren't good at math; that guy in the cubicle next to yours who got the manager fired for saying that women don't make good employees; and Anais Nin.
...Educational, isn't it? :D :D This all explains why I rage against the machine that is H/D fanon, come to think of it, AHAHAHAHAHLAKFjslafkjsl;kgf;sl;ljgkvd;lkdajf DUDE IT REALLY DOES. *cries* (I feel sort of smug that the page isn't really nice to anyone but INFPs... ehehehe.)
PS: For the longest time in my adolescence, literally the ONLY thing I wanted to do was either go live on a deserted island or run off to join Starfleet :/ AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY I DON'T GO TO PARTIES :/
...this may be my favorite webpage in the history of the universe. Or at least the internets ;___; I can literally recognize all my friends in these :D :D :D

Also: HAPPY BIRTHDAY,
adora_spintriae~!! One of these days, I shall have to write you comic!porn, so consider this a rain-check. ♥.

Also: HAPPY BIRTHDAY,

Date: 2006-07-04 10:11 pm (UTC)I ask because I read the ENTJ's and thought "wicked cool, now I feel like being an extrovert cause I'd love to be an Evil Mastermind!" and then read the INTJ and went "FUCK YES" whereas when I read the INFP my brain sort of screamed. :P

Date: 2006-07-04 10:16 pm (UTC)BITCHES!!1) INFP, I shall have to say that I thought most of descriptions for the NTs were adorable and cute & made me love you guys more :P :P However, I just don't think INFPs were given what society generally considers 'bad traits', and were just shown as goofy/impractical at worst-- even the ENFPs seem -ridiculously- goofy whereas INFPs just seemed too much so to fit in with the 'normal' people. I dunno, what I'm saying is that you can think all the other traits are cool in a Machiavellian way (and I sort of do also!) but the INFP wasn't cool so much as... the nicest?? Something like that :))no subject
Date: 2006-07-04 10:20 pm (UTC)Well yeah but then that begs the question of whether nice is actually good. I mean if you mean in "society likes me" terms then I might agree but -- THERE IS A MOTH IN MY ROOM THAT IS NOT OKAY -- but for me, that's not like, a concern.
Also, when I say my brain screamed, it's because the idea of ever being idealistic makes me cry inside. I don't DISLIKE IDEALISTS, and in fact I think they are kinda awesome and also the world would suck without them, but me being robotogirl, the idea of thinking that way myself kind of terrifies me? DO YOU SEE WHAT I AM SAYING, HERE?
also you're awesome and i totally missed you.

Date: 2006-07-04 10:30 pm (UTC)I'm less 'nice' and more... well, I am kind of nice, but in a deep-down super-sincere 'ideal' sense and less in a practical day-to-day, 'I'll probably do nice things for you without asking & say nice things whether or not they're true' sense. I'm just sort of... I don't wanna say GOOD because that's lame, but I mean well, how's that?? haha. I think INFPs, almost without exception, tend to mean as well as they possibly can re: the world, people, bugs, planets, and so on :> And themselves also. I'm sort of a self-centered INFP, actually :>
Heheh yeah, I can see how too much close and personal contact with idealism would warp your core :) Not as bad as it would an ENTJ's, which is why it's like, my mission in life to find a particularly vulnerable ENTJ, POUNCE and BRAINWASH them with my LURVE POWAH :D :D :D (You think I'm kidding, but I'm not kidding-- I think it's possible if the INFP is 'skilled' enough, for realz... well, but most of us aren't.)
And I missed you too, robotogirl!! :D

...Michael's probably an ST, his mother's an SF, Justin's an SFP.... heh.

Date: 2006-07-04 10:40 pm (UTC)I can't figure out if I think Justin's an ISFP or an INFP.
EMMETT is definitely an ESFP.
Ted's an ESTJ.

Date: 2006-07-04 10:50 pm (UTC)Justin... he has N moments, but the who thing... if he's an introvert (which, yeah, okay), then the 'S' is more likely what's pushing him 'out there' into the clubs to experience things and making him so focused on artwork rather than thinking/dreaming/introspecting more. He totally works his issues out externally but solitarily, through his hands, which isn't an N quality, I guess? It's all about what dominates... I draw too, but am more likely to think/dream first. He seems more likely to draw/go out first. :-? But yeah, he's idealistic and stubborn :D
...Ted is a scary person *___*

Date: 2006-07-04 10:55 pm (UTC)HAHAHAHAH YOU'RE AFRAID OF TED THAT'S AWESOME.
I'm trying to find Ben. I think Brian's probably an ENTJ, but I hesitate to say that because it's very close to mine and it sounds like I'm projecting. But I actually do think so? Either that or an ESTJ, but I don't have the more standard personality descriptions on me right now, and so I can't make a serious decision.

Date: 2006-07-04 11:37 pm (UTC)So I'd have said something like ENFJ, because INFJ doesn't fit (I know some), but upon reflection, the 'T' does seem to fit more, even though you're not much with the NT/abstract-thinking-dominant (I know too many NTs), so I suppose by a process of elimination, deciding it can't be NF, it would have to be ST. Um. I shall have to look into ISTJs more :-?
