[this and... that. over there. yes.]
Jul. 4th, 2006 10:49 pmSeriously, I can't be the only person in this fandom that sees some potential goodness/thing of interest in like, every major HP character or potential relationship (rather than every pairing, hmf). I mean, whether or not they're well-written (and even moreso if they're not!!), I find the web of Potterverse relationships always interesting. So basically, Ginny may be a Mary-Sue and H/G an awful waste of space, but that just means that it's up to fanon to work harder with the raw potential. And I think of most possible het relationships as equally bleh in canon or most fanon, come to think of it. I mean, seriously-- most D/Hr? Bleh.
Ahhh, the world would be a wondrous place if only most things didn't suck. To wit, I love & adore
_ri's Draco/Hermione comic (which she's updating again!) even though I really can't take most people's het!Draco (or, well, slash either, but anyway). See, I think Draco totally has potential with both Ginny & Hermione, but it always totally sucks 'cause he's made into this smooth guy, whereas really the joy of it is watching either of those girls give as good as they get (and better... a lot better). It's just a fun snarky time! Yaye.
Also, I've found this R/S comic called 'Midnight Conversation' by
thistlerose & akabeko, and it's just beyond adorable. Man. I know it's uber-fluffy, but I am weak for well-done R/S fluff. Forgive me, higher powers. :S
Speaking of highly amusing things (...okay, and of 'seeing the goodness' in things), this page on Myers-Briggs personality types is... a little different.
The INFP is a dreamy, imaginitive, idealist, capable of finding the good in anything or anyone, even something as foul as Newark, New Jersey. INFPs are sometimes dangerous to the well-being of society as a whole, as they are prone to adopting subversive and destructive ideologies like "The world should be fair," "People should treat one another well," and "You know, 'Friends' is a really, really stupid television show."
These irrational thought patterns may sometimes cause INFPs to run off and join the circus, the Resistance, or the Rebellion, where they tend to do well in any position requiring excellent hand-eye coordination or mastery of the Force.
COMPATIBILITY: INFPs and ISTJs generally exhibit a natural predator/prey relationship, which, though it might appear harsh and cruel from the outside, is all part of the natural cycle of life. In fact, were it not for the predation of the ISTJ, the population of INFPs would soon grow to unsustainable levels, overwhelming the ability of their ecological niche to support them.
Famous idealists include that girl in your sixth-grade homeroom who got the teacher fired for saying that girls aren't good at math; that guy in the cubicle next to yours who got the manager fired for saying that women don't make good employees; and Anais Nin.
...Educational, isn't it? :D :D This all explains why I rage against the machine that is H/D fanon, come to think of it, AHAHAHAHAHLAKFjslafkjsl;kgf;sl;ljgkvd;lkdajf DUDE IT REALLY DOES. *cries* (I feel sort of smug that the page isn't really nice to anyone but INFPs... ehehehe.)
PS: For the longest time in my adolescence, literally the ONLY thing I wanted to do was either go live on a deserted island or run off to join Starfleet :/ AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY I DON'T GO TO PARTIES :/
...this may be my favorite webpage in the history of the universe. Or at least the internets ;___; I can literally recognize all my friends in these :D :D :D
