reenkaReading through a (raw) Harry/Snape (and James/Snape) doujinshi, I realized what's been missing-- what's been holding me back from wholehearted Harry/Snape loff all this time. Yes.

Man. I love H/S (done right!) because it's so fucked up, but the bottom!Snape...ness just rackets it up another few notches, doesn't it? See, the best use for sexualizing a relationship in fic is like this-- it totally turns everything on its head while still illuminating core conflicts. Having Harry 'own Snape's ass' is beautiful, in other words, precisely because it's totally wrong (so wrong it's right! and it totally fulfills Snape's oh-so-sekrit desires while escalating his inner conflicts all over the place). Just like the pairing itself! Yessss :D

I totally do believe you about the horrible fics that rope you in AGAINST YOUR WILL, it's just that you have a stronger stomach than I do and may accidentally not run away screaming at the first mention of Draco's oh-so toned abs... maybe. As for H/S, well, I haven't read much of any for -years-, but like... in the good old days, I liked to experiment. With porn. What else does one experiment with, anyway? And there was a lot of H/S, and I saw the land of plenty, and the Spirit of the Land, it spoke unto me, and it said, 'Reena, hearken to my call-- it is a fullsome, raging call of hormonal excitement, and so on and so forth'. And sometimes (rarely) there was actually good fic. But that is somehow not the point, for sometimes I cringe, verily, I cringe at the notion of Snape Nekkid (Omg), but at the same time, it's so Fucked Up and Wrong I find it oddly compelling.....Much like Draco/Dumbledore or say, my hidden love affair with Tom/Hagrid...Um. Well, it really also depends, with those links, I mean-- just how much does bottom!Harry traumatize you and -why-. For me, they worked 'cause I always go for snark & desperate!Draco, whether he's top or bottom, as long as he's being needy and not all aloof and icy or whatever.
