So, because I'm feeling nostalgic: this is what I wrote before OoTP came out, 2 years ago. Oddly, it fits just as well now :D Everyone was skeered Draco would bite it last time, too :>

I've been pretty separated from the general hubbub, I think-- but then, I have a talent for feeling zen in the midst of excitement. The more excited the people around me tend to be, the more calm I get. So... yes, I'm just anticipating... things :> Bad things, good things-- as long as they serve a purpose, I, for one, will be happy.

And I've been thinking recently, about how I'm never satisfied in terms of fanfic-- how no matter what I read, there's always that unreachable dream in my head, of how things -could- be and how they -should- be, and maybe that's the point. The dream remains.

Hm. I feel very much in tune with your words. I go stumm when people rave too much, and the better the fanfic the more noticeable is the missing 5 percent.

That's exactly it! The missing 5%! It's good to know I'm not alone-- 'cause I always zero in on whatever people aren't saying, y'know, in virtually any situation. Either I'm contrary & perverse or... no, I'm pretty much contrary & perverse :>

Not that I'm not excited about HBP on some level, but the more the fandom heated up, the more I cooled down -.-

Haha, I'm about to leave for the Manhattan B&N midnight book party. Um. I still don't know whether I'll read it immediately or avoid fandom & write my novella first.
