Though this makes me wonder if 'subtext' could be called canon, since it's so dependent on the reader so you could pretty much see any subtext you wanted. I think I'll make up a theory that Harry is really from Mars and Draco is from Venus and see how that flies.

...Do they say these things in like, other fandoms?? Should I just run away now, or wait till later??

It wasn't capslock!not-gay, it was capslock!wtf, 'cause... wtf. Cho = not gay as far as canon; you can fanfic-it and sidestep it in fanon till you drop, it's STILL CANON. >:O

I meant that Cho proves -Harry's- not gay, and a 'reading' (interpretation) is different than defining the nature of source text and implying said reading is the One True Reading, as in it being "canon". Ahaha, I said Cho without clarifying wondering whether you'd follow my thought pattern or not. But. Not on purpose :))

not when just speaking with a male character becomes proof of gay though. that's like... these people can have relationships that are not sexual! i swear! you know, this was the sort of thing that annoyed me about sirius/remus. and i guess it was meant to be funny but it sounded a bit too serious at the same time.

Of course not. Never expected them to be. Always thought one could make the best argument for Harry out of anyone, but considering Cho and now Ginny, this means 'the argument for anyone is not so good.'
