This is probably the scariest and most interesting online test I've yet come across-- the 'would you have been a Nazi' test.
I think because it ties into my whole pet shtick about how we're all responsible for the world, and if we blame anyone, we should also blame ourselves for whatever evils are about. It's a philosophical stance rather than an accusation, though a lot of people do take it as such, as in, 'what do you mean it's my fault? what do you expect me to do?' Well, the main thing I expect people to do is not to be so easily brainwashed by the dominant rhetoric they're exposed to, and I realize this is most likely asking too much. But what else can I say?
Because if we are not responsible for each other, how can we be fully responsible for ourselves?
I don't think I've really figured it out or anything, except that I wish people were more curious, less accepting of whatever feels good to believe, more... intellectually brave, I guess?
I hate knowing that at any moment, the old mistakes could get made again (and -are- being made). I hate feeling like as a species, we just don't learn; we don't remember; and largely, we don't even care unless it bites our noses off.
I really think the main reason I wouldn't have been a Nazi is my sheer antisocialness and lack of will to dominate or be dominated. I resist all rhetoric by default just because I'm a contrary bitch, really, and that's one thin line between me and my darkest self. It's a thin, thin line between the self we know and the self we could be influenced into becoming.

And even so... even so....
I trust Albert Einstein, don't you?
He helped make the atomic bomb... but I adore him, and admire his big pretty brain, and respect him as a human being, because he was conscious. He acknowledged his mistakes, was worried about the future, wanted to know the face of god and yet didn't think he could ever fully encompass the truth he sought after. Without that ideal... I often think, without that ideal there would be next to nothing.

Also, I was just too chuffed (aww, shucks) at the same test guy's result for the 'what's my style of humor' test. Man, I love being the Idiot Savant. It even -sounds- like me >:D
( ...more spam, of course. )
