I've been rather sick with the flu the past several days, and unable to concentrate pretty much on anything, though I still managed to read scary quantities of H/D that I've promptly now forgotten. Ahem. Anyway, I am taking my meds and should be back to normal by tomorrow (*crosses fingers*), so um. Yeah. Feedback. Guilt. Tomorrow. Right now, any feedback I gave would be like, "umm... gerkle?"

Anyway.

Just. Had to sort of snort in a horrified manner at the latest troll-stalker-like lj. I mean. I think this is the cusp. The ascention of the genre to such heights of wankiness that I finally have to accede-- this really does appear to be the Wankiest Fandom On Earth. o_0

beingbnf, man. Whoever you are-- just say no. Because, I mean. Do I even have to expand on this? My god. The userinfo on this baby. Oh man. It's like a parody, except it's just. Not funny. Except in that "omg NO" sort of way.

The wank. The sheer. Unadulterated. Wank. It burrrnnns, preciousssssss.

BNF is seriously like, the worst concept to come out of online fandom. It just really is. It's got no actual positive value I can think of, and its sheer juvenile wankiness is like a big glob of congealing goo right on the keyboard. I mean, here I was, trying to write delirious!Reena-porn, and. Turns me right off the subject, dude.

I am not a BNF. Mostly 'cause I find the idea to be derogatory, especially as used here. I mean, okay, whoever made this journal is prolly like, 13-16 or something, but still. Dude. Just Say No.

Clearly, there are no Deep Thoughts in this entry. Except like. "Dude. The wanking. Write it into fic. At least we can wank together, then."

Oh wait. I'll try to be useful. So I really enjoyed serpentigena's latest two fics, which are really different in style and theme, though both are H/D. Yes. That is Of The Good, and also of the Christmas Spirit of Giving. Though sadly only one is porn.
    Also, umbralin's `This Day' was porny and touching and intense and. Wah. Ouch. Meep. Good.

They're like, "ooh, loook, we're so picky" and then at first, they have like, 32 people friended & at the end it's like, 89, eheheh. 'Cause they all want attention, dude. I think the reason they don't pick the "right people" is 'cause you have to be partly BNF to know who the "real" BNFs are....? Or something...? Or at least not be a newbie?

I was just a bit... overcome. 'Cause I never really thought fandom was -this- wanky before, believe it or not. I think this was just the straw that broke the camel's back, for me. Heh. I wasn't really dissing it, I was just, kinda. Um. Accepting the wank. Whoa.

LOL. thanks so much for pointing me that way! It's perfect in all the ways you describe, esp. in the way it tries very hard but can only come from the outside. I do think a fandom this large can have 70+ bnf's, but why would an exclusive h/d person even care about snarry bnf's, and what about folks who used to be big but stopped writing, and some people are not writing at all, apparently... it's perfect in the way only unintended parody can be...now i need to go and check out if it has been f-w'ed yet :-)
