omg, omg, OMG, i saw x2 and then what happens? i come home and zahra's written more bobby/st. john slash, and you know, i watched the movie and you know what?? i didn't slash anybody! my heart was pure! pure as ...pure.... pure as....okay, not pure because i was perving over the boys (THE BOYS!!), and you know, i was all, awww, over rogue/bobby (even though rogue is meant to be with gambit, dammit it people GET IT STRAIGHT!!) and.
then. then. now.
i read zahra's bobby/st. john fic, like i said, so noooowww, in -retrospect-, obviously i agree that st. john is The Hotness. i swear, the whole movie, -rogue- was the hotness, to me. that -mouth-. i -want- that girl, man. i really, really, really do. but my -god-, yes, what was i -thinking-. but see, you may not believe this (-i- may not believe this), but when it's fresh in my mind, i'm actually kinda sorta a canon whore and there wasn't any actual -chemistry-, i thought, between johnny and anybody, really. well, not bobby. bobby didn't strike me as hella interesting.
but holy fuck, batman, bobby/st. john is REALLY VERY HOT. like a lot. yes. and i'm all, "MY GOD WHY DIDN'T I SEE THIS", and i mean, i -know- why, but. i dunno. and here i thought i'm an impossible slasher 'cause i was slashing the two guys in the `bad boys 2' preview, believe it or not. and i don't really find either of them -that- hot, but they had -chemistry-, man. see, st. john wasn't giving bobby those sort of looks. he just wasn't, that i remember. i mean, okay, pyro is one hot amoral biotch, but. see, he needs someone fitting to fall for before i'd slash. sigh.
anyway, johnny's slashability aside, the three fics are... well... it's zahra, what can i say. i'm writing smut right now, and i'm tempted to just -stop-, because guh, i can never compare, dude. can never compare. no, seriously. DUDE. zahra's bobby/st. john is of the hotness. and now i'm all about the boy-love once again (stupid het movies distracting me..!..! wah!). really, i should stop reading my friends list altogether when i've got -anything- else to do, shouldn't i -.-
still, goddamn. i'm a bobby/st. john shipper now, man. i really, really am. w00t! ...reading `on love and lust at mutant high' by seperis-- oh yah, i think as usual, i'm learning more from fanfics than i ever have from movies. damn. have to re-watch sometime, now.
really, it shouldn't surprise me anymore, the way slash changes -everything-. the way you don't even -notice- so many things which slash forces you to. suddenly, all the little looks and sub-plots and secondary characters actually -matter-. a combination of slash & fanfic, anyway. suddenly, there's a whole -world- there, and not just enough for the plot to work. wow. it still blows me away, really.
and just how darkly, wonderfully hot and darkly sinful is this?
~~
and mostly, um.
- Happy belated Birthday,

Date: 2003-05-08 07:24 pm (UTC)The reason you didn't see it is that Bobby in the movie isn't real Bobby who is funny and practical joking and silly and would SO be lame and crushy over Johnny.
You know Jenn just makes all that stuff up in her series, right? Ok, just to be clear.
I love the striped socks and shoes on that picture. I want them! I need me some striped socks and red mary janes.
LJ doesn't want to let me post my comment, because it's a big ol' bitch.

Date: 2003-05-08 08:01 pm (UTC)batman lurve is basically the fox cartoon (wow, sad), and partly the old tv show (can't believe i watched that).
so yah, i love rogue/gambit 'cause they were cool on the cartoon. heee. and same for storm (i LOVE cartoon!storm-- but it seems like i love any and all incarnations of storm, really) and jubilee. my fave characters are-- storm, jean grey, xavier, rogue, gambit, professor x. i've only ever liked wolverine in the movie.
i also liked x-man (the comic).
my love for spiderman was all based on the hokey 70s tv series, and anyway, spiderman is my favorite superhero on principle, 'cause he's dorky and makes wisecracks without being gothily depressed. hee.
for awhile, in the 80s anyway, there wasn't much rogue/gambit in the comics as far as i know, and the cartoon was mostly playing it up way more than was canon. i've -heard- they've done more with the pairing in the 90s, but i don't know exactly what. i know that rogue fascinates me because of her powers. that's how it is with all the x-men. i totally prioritize based on powers.
storm has got the coolest ones-- basically the ones i want. i want to be storm. no, seriously. she's got a) the name; b) the looks; c) the powers; d) the attitude. i just love her to death.
jean has got the powers, man. the powers. her and scott were the original marvel girl and marvel boy (i -think-), and it shows. classic powers, i can't resist. scott is boring, but jeans' powers are just hard to beat. i -would- want to be her, but... a tad too boring. sigh.
anyway, xavier's probably got the coolest amount and type of power (godlike, anyone?), but it's hard to want to either be xavier or ship him, so he isn't in the game, though i'm fascinated with him.
never liked wolverine that much because his powers don't intrigue me, really, though they're cool. plus he wears yellow and he's manly. erk.
jubilee has the coolest-looking powers (i so want to do sparkly-magic type attacks, eheheheh-- no seriously, that's so me) plus she's got a cute attitude, so i wuv her.
gambit is v. cool-- fascinating character, great powers, he drawls, and he's in love with an unobtainable girl (rogue). see, loving rogue is a big part of what makes gambit so interesting, to me. 'cause it's all doomed and impossible and it's -tension-.
but rogue.
rogue.
she's fantastic. she's cursed by her powers-- and yet they're so huge. it's not like jean grey, who's sometimes taken over but mostly okay. rogue's constantly living this horrible existence, and yet she's funny and strong. she can't touch anyone (what a great storytelling device), and yet she can FLY and kill people with a -touch- and -acquire their powers- and she's like, impossibly strong, too. i dig that lots. as in, lots.
so yah. heh.
and yah, i know jenn made some stuff up, but it was just making me pay attention, which it seems fanfic makes me do but i don't do just from watching a movie, naturally ><;;
