~~fic challenge idea, wip listing and shameless solicitation below.

wah. i've been so distracted. the fics have really been piling up-- one's to read-- and (oh, horror..!) ones to write. i mean, the last one i finished (of length) was the harry/cho now off in beta-happy-happy-land. *scowls and kicks at hetfic* (though addictedkitten should be happy to know that i have no intention of abandoning harry/draco smut fic, ahahaha-- oh yes, that baby's got juice yet, oh yes). i think i've got-- what-- six fics i am supposed to be doing by my own decree?? why do i even -start- while i haven't finished others, i dunno. evil plotbunnies. *kicks bunnies*. i'm such a sucker for people asking me for stuff, too. but in a good way :D

    anyway, i blame my laxness on having company this weekend and being in nyc seeing CoS -last- weekend. yes, we all need excuses. i firmly believe this. many a great fic can be written purely about the cute inevitability of excuses. *pokes all of you*. heh. any takers?? :D
    fic-in-progress list, for my own reference and your inevitable amusement:

    - regret's hand!fic, wherein draco is obsessed with potter's extremities, having taken the perceptivity potion (so clever, that boy). smut tries to happen, and is failing so far. *facepalms* stubborn boys, those two.
    - sara's smutfic, wherein the Slytherin Sex Couch plays a "starring role". sadly, not quite a pwp, otherwise i'd be done by now.
    - veela inc `whose line is it anyway' fic, wherein snape brews a potion, harry gets naked, and pants are bandied about as weapons of destruction. or not.
    - `needful things' - h/d fic written partly in second-person (inspired by sara), wherein draco gets an oh-so-mysterious bloodstone ring, lucius is in azkaban, and draco is going insane with -- several things at once.
    - `armchair slash' food challenge fic(let?) which i intended to do with strawberries dipped in chocolate, and which later degenerated into perversion and chocolate cockroaches and fluffy!evil schemes and thus put on hold.
    - `coffee and cream' - cute fic(let?) idea wherein draco is (secretly!) addicted to coffee and cute things happen when harry finds out. initially meant to be named `death and coffee' and include an insane cross-over with the Endless, but title scrapped because it became way too cute.
    - silly promised hermione/pansy bad!sex challenge smutlet, which i've actually -started-, strangely enough. more fun than harry/cho, whadya know. mmmm, hermione's finally gonna get some and it's not even -good-. poor girl.
    - & last-but-not-least, yes, i intend to work on my carnival fic, actually~>:0

i would like to give away plotbunnies. or rather, send them to good homes. i keep them nice and fresh, and they have no venereal diseases or anything, honest.
    challenge idea:

what about a challenge where everyone picks a pairing (het, slash, femmeslash, anything), and writes it, within the four canon years. it wouldn't be one of those "only one author per pairing" deals, because i don't want to -force- anyone to write say, neville/draco set within 2nd year. that would be wrong. cute, but wrong. also, dunno about the level of explicitness. am i going to require a kiss? sex? the more the better of course. there will be winners from amongst all categories (if anyone even writes anything), who'll get cool prizes. said prize will be to have any of the participants write winner(s) a fic/do fanart of any character/pairing of their choice, or write a sequel to their story in the challenge, or a smutty addendum, or whatever.
    the important thing is just to write say, a ron/hermione romance or a harry/draco or a harry/hermione or (easier) draco/ginny, or harry/ron-- within canon. wouldn't it be cool?
    feel free to take it off my hands and advertize it or start it or what have you, if you want.

also, am so so -so- excited about fic idea, but don't think (am almost 95% sure) i can't do it justice. so if anyone wants to write this for me, i'll write/draw anything you want (hopefully you want art, considering my queue is longish already) ><;;
    anyway.
i watched `die another day' (w00t~! i did something for fun that was far, far away from slash or harry potter. weird). the fencing scene. gah. that rocked. my. socks.

please, i beg y'all, write me swordfighting!h/d-- i don't mean just playing with swords. i mean actual fight choreography, an actual -action- sequence, with like-- suspense and tension, and not of the sexual kind (well, erm, mostly). i mean, give the boys some swords. let 'em go at it. to the blood~:) complications hoped for. snarky dialogue craved. weird acrobatics (assisted by spells) craved. duelling club a possibility. yes, a harry/draco action movie. YES, can't you see it? no more sex than the usual action movie-- ie, maybe a kiss at the end.

a duel. with no (combative) spells.
flushed, sweaty!harry. violent!draco. no full-body contact.
mmmm, was in movie theatre, drooling at sword!harry poster. that needs a caption: `feel my sword, slytherin.' mmmm.

EDIT: just in case you were holding back, because it's het: read this (by pingviini). gah. and gah. and gah. it has been so long since het!smut wasn't het or really "smut" to me (it seems-- though not really that long). this is pretty much enough to sustain the theory that `slashers do it better', along with lasultrix's `Where it Falls', a viktor/cho fic. mmmmr.

oh, well, since you're not stalking me, it's safe enough to tell you that i -have- written stories of the urban fantasy sort, which i'm not sure you've read...
most of them are here (http://www.core.binghamton.edu/~lorien/story), and the rest are here (http://www.core.binghamton.edu/~lorien/old/), heh.
`flare', `dancing in the dark', `wild in the wind', `magic is as magic does,' & `a fox in central park'.
`crossings' has urban fantasy elements but um... well... it's a confused sort of novella sort of thing which i pretended i finished but didn't really.
i want someone to read `the truth about demons', which is adam/lucifer slash, because i'm semi-proud of it as the first truly finished and semi-well-structured story i've written.

don't worry, you could be reading stuff by me into next year, even if i don't write anything ;D
