For the record, I, uh... could try to give likelihood percentages, but fear they are both deeply in the negative in any realistic universe, how's that? I mean, it depends on what you consider 'canon', etcetc, but... it's like saying 'is it easier to climb Mt Rainier or Mt Helens?' ...'Cause like, DUDE, y'know? :))
    Also, all things being equal, I'd prefer the H/S shippers bashing/ignoring Draco to them -shipping- Draco with Snape :P

I will never understand why they are constantly shouting! Is it more hateful if you're shouting? I'm more amused by the anon wanting its cookie back because it's hungry, tbh.

It still disturbs me that people are apparently so willing to make personality judgements based on a person's fictional preferences. Well, at least I don't see anyone doing that without anonymity. :))

Man, I've seen personality judgments based on what letters make up your name! Doing it based on what you like is almost reasonable compared to that sort of thing :))

ahahaha the comment about Snape being the Chosen Slytherin is so true it explains so much. Some Snarry people are so invested in Snape being the One Truuuuuuuue Daaaarth Heeeero.

Sorry to say but I disagree on Snarry and Harry/Draco being on the same implausibility level, possibly because if I try to imagine myself fucking my nasty classmate I find it oddly hot, with the uglyass socially retarded math teacher who enjoys bullying his twenty year younger students not so much.

I would much prefer if (some) Snarry shippers didn't have such a freaking superiority complex (see me being careful with the "some" qualifier even in a locked post! It's not paranoia if they're out to get you!). The legend that some characters in HP canon are less lame than others is so insidious.

I think they're both equally difficult to mantain, but shipping H/D has fucked me up so much I think of it as equally plausible to H/R, with H/D being relatively more sexual! Then again, the sad truth that we all must face at one point is that Harry Potter = really almost no subtext whatsoever (this becomes especially clear when you get in another fandom).

Sorry if my thoughts on Snape seemed nasty, I was annoyed at the Internets at the mo :(

The funny thing is really how little I care, I guess-- like... well, I never cared about the subtext in canon or lack thereof, y'know? I like H/D the way it can be written, and I like their interactions in canon because they a) are cool in their own right; b) are interesting as jumping off points in my head, especially in book 5. The need to see subtext and then write slash from it has never really been instrumental in why -I- write, though I love to see subtext... in the end I actually find overt cases of it (like on The OC) frustrating 'cause the show will never GO there, and that drives me insane in close cases. Heh.

You're right that I H/D seems more sexual than H/R (to me, anyway), but in terms of comparing plausibility.... hm, that maintaining-vs-initiating thing is interesting. H/D, I always thought, was near-impossible to maintain, so I always got more into the initiating-- plus most people's idea of 'maintaining' is so cliche and settled, y'know? The idea of maintaining H/S makes me laugh. A lot. Not that it's harder, but just-- hahahahahaha. Y'know? Um. Initiating H/D vs H/R seems so -different- more than anything, really. The motivations would be hugely different, so it's hard to even compare, but in the end H/R just has more opportunity (at least that was my thing with the list).
