You know, I usually think I sound too serious, or obsessed, or explain things too much or not enough, or sound too 'artsy' or faux!thinky without meaning to, whatever.

So of course when I make a really silly/casual post about wanting to write 'King Dork' slash, THE WRITER HIMSELF has to see and POST ON HIS BLOG ABOUT IT to the consternation and superior bemusement of his readers, like 'ewww, slash' and 'oh, it's one of -those- people' & 'wtf is that person saying??' type reactions. :/

Actually, my first response was all 'lakflkajdfklsvdjhOMGWTFWOW' (laughing my ass off), but it's also kind of... scary, y'know. It made me realize just -how- much we're living in our own tiny bubble which people really -wouldn't- get, much as I like to blithely pretend otherwise, because people don't -suck-, do they? Like, they don't suck enough to constantly dismiss things they don't understand, do they?? Oh wait. :/

It's also REALLY weird and freaky to know a 'real writer' could read this-- hell, -JKR- could be reading us without any of us the wiser!! The whole thing just made me realize I respect & admire the author of a book I like... FROM A DISTANCE. I definitely want my space, man. And also, anti-slash oh-I'm-so-superior people deserve to have dirty raunchy RPS written about them till they faint from shock :P

EDIT - Holy crap, they don't make H/D vids like they used to o_0 Omg... just, watched the recent fluffy H/D vid of DOOM~! My EYES, my eyes!!1 Or should I say, the MANIPS, the manips!! :(( Watched the whole thing 'cause I saw someone say it made them remember why they shipped H/D. Made -me- remember why I avoid most fic like the plague, personally :P Of course, nothing can match the GENIUS of 'The Way Things Are' vid for pure unfiltered H/D spirit, not even silviakundera's vids. ♥♥♥. FOR SERIOUS!

Wow, I thought it wasn't that weird to go to cons!! Man! I thought 'normal' people knew that sci-fi/fantasy fans go to cons-- it's like... uh, one of our better-known weird ritual-type things?? I was actually happy when I went to a con 'cause it gave some degree of normalcy or 'respectability' to my obsession, which just shows yet again how warped my view is, ahahah :)) -.-


AND OMG OMG I FORGOT ABOUT 'SHE BANGS', THOUGH I DON'T KNOW HOW I COULD :( :( I FORGOT WHO MADE IT, ALSO, BUT I REMEMBER THE GENIUS :( :( NOW I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN & I DON'T HAVE IT ON THIS LAPTOP!! :(( But! They just don't get that it's an unofficial con for the FANDOM; ie, my aunt was joking and was all, "Is Harry Potter going to be there? ;)" and my grandma was like, "JKR is going to be there, right?" I was all, "WTF NO, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT IDEA?" It's really hard for people who aren't fannish to understand concepts that are like fandom and slashers.

Well, it's a sense it's odd that we -don't- have official cons with Dan Radcliffe on them & stuff. I mean, Star Trek people come even to little dinky cons, y'know. JKR doesn't love us, 'tis true :( Though yeah... um, I wouldn't relish explaining fandom itself to my grandma. First of all I'd have to explain fanfiction, and then they'd just ask me wide-eyed if I couldn't just stop now & write original fic, 'cause they -know- how good I am, etcect ^^;;;

But yes, um, .wmv is totally good! That's what Layha's vids are in, which you should watch if you haven't! They're classic, totally up there, though I agree about most HP vids being made my total fangirl amateurs. There just isn't a vid culture in HP the way there is in TV-based fandoms, where there are reviews and whole rec websites and things. But um, I know Layha & Silvia & you, so I have my (old-school, haha) sources :> Plus most of the vids people make seem to be R/Hr & H/G, and the idea of the movies spliced into romantic OBHWF songs...... *shudder*

And btw, um, continuing my role as your sometime crack provider... rubymoth's crack!porn is totally up your alley if you hadn't heard of her yet, or at least the Calanthe valley :> :> Mostly I'd say Lubricity (http://www.catthause.com/rubymoth/lubricity.html) and Star Crossed Seekers (http://www.catthause.com/rubymoth/starcrossed.html), which are both post-OoTP AUs, & I guess The Unauthorized Biography of Harry Potter (http://www.catthause.com/rubymoth/biography.html) is also good for the crack!fluffy porn angle... even if it's post-Hogwarts so I'm a little meh. I've had "Through With You" for ages! But I'm afraid nothing can compare with "She Bangs" for me anymore. It's just one of those things that spoils the rest of something for you... I uploaded it here (http://pincushionheart.net/xo/Bunniqula%20-%20She%20Bangs.wmv).

Well, there's lots of sci-fi/fantasy cons where a lot of the "lesser" actors in the HP movies attend. I'm not surprised DanRad doesn't go to cons, because can you imagine the crowdedness and the fan craziness?
