[taste-test, anyone??]
Apr. 7th, 2006 03:28 am...So yet another person has defriended me that has never said absolutely -anything- to me on my lj or elsewhere. o_0 I'm trying to think if there are people on my flist I've -never- talked to, and... there are 2 out of 70. One is
lupercali, which is
rageprufrock's HP fic journal wherein she never posts anymore, and the other is
nc17rated, which is
mneomosyne's smut-pic journal, and I may have talked to her once, but basically... yeah; I don't tend to friend people I won't talk to, like, -ever- in the first place. ^^;;; I know people do lurk a lot, and so do I sometimes, but damn. It always makes me go "....okay..." (before I snap out of it, like... now).
BUT ANYWAY.
I was just thinking that I think my first impression of people (online) is by the emotional 'taste' they have. Like. This one person who likes Snape always 'tasted' sour and dark and oily-yet-taffy-like, so I didn't like them much. This other person reminds me of raspberries and sharp sweet things, maybe the watery tang of watermelon and a dash of kiwi. I really like her a lot. Hahah.
So! Comment if you want me to tell you what you taste like :)) ♥

Date: 2006-04-07 08:29 am (UTC)Great description of Snape lovers, more than whoever you were thinking of. A clogging, yet biting taste/smell in the nose, perhaps.
Hm, do you have a taste for me? We always only chat in your journal!

Date: 2006-04-07 09:25 am (UTC)...It's a weird mix of smoke (something that's not heavy in the air and oddly sweet, like cloves) and other, even subtler smells like lavender water and sharp green and piney, still clear even when congealed. Not sweet or bitter but with hints of sourness & musk, and even then it's hard to place.
...That... probably makes no sense -.- Well, I -am- sleepy :>

Date: 2006-04-07 09:17 am (UTC)Something very very sharp and dark/musky though, not edible; I'm thinking more like mens' cologne, but that's not quite right. I think I mean-- more alcoholic. Yeah, I think you're definitely a cocktail drink, with that heavy burning kick and the fruitiness. Some strawberry in there, some lemon. But something that burns at my taste-buds at the center. Not a harsh drink. It probably has a straw :>

Date: 2006-04-07 09:36 am (UTC)Seriously, that is so cool. I would love to be a drink like that.

Date: 2006-04-07 08:38 am (UTC)I don't "taste" people, per se, but I do associate other things with them for some reason. For you, Reena, every time I picture you, you are always in the choir room in my high school, sitting where I used to sit in the alto section. Why? I do not know. But that is where you live in my imagination.

Date: 2006-04-07 09:09 am (UTC)...I definitely would sit alone, either high up or right up in front where there's also fewer people (since they're mostly behind me). But I've never been in a choir room :(

Date: 2006-04-07 09:05 am (UTC).............*facepalm* but okay, I asked for it.
I think they're all professor's office smells/tastes: old books (y'know, those ones with thick ridged paper and gold cloth bookmarks), leather, coffee. Sometimes there's something sharp and fresh, like the taste in the air when it's sort of winter but sort of spring.

Date: 2006-04-07 10:45 am (UTC)It's definitely not black coffee-- when I thought more on it, I totally forgot the creamy-sweetness. I also think chai would work, maybe even better because of the frothy milk and the cinnamon. But the old book dusky-muskiness stays :>

Date: 2006-04-07 11:48 am (UTC)I tried in my head to return the favor, but my brain just isn't wired the same way, I'm sorry! Though I think I have a visual image that I associate with you, something like a pointillist painting, just a bit elusive, deliberately concealing its underlying concreteness and rigor.

Date: 2006-04-07 04:15 pm (UTC)i think i've at least exchanged a comment or two with everyone who's on my flist, if not a bit more. i friend back on kind of a haphazard basis. it is this: i look at the journal of the person. and if they are interesting, i shall reciprocate.
and that is my system. it's a good system.

Date: 2006-04-08 12:10 am (UTC)I know you didn't ask, but you're actually one of the easier ones, though: lemony sharp, maybe even pepperminty (something like sunshine if it was... acidic) but with a darker softer-smooth feel underneath, like... not so much a strong taste as a texture, the way bitterish chocolate mousse is. ^^;;;;

Date: 2006-04-07 06:01 pm (UTC)and this whole tasting thing? you should know i now have a mental image of you running around, gleefully licking people. maybe you actually do that in your spare time. what do i know.

Date: 2006-04-08 12:23 am (UTC)HAHAHA I know, I'm chagrined now 'cause the whole taste thing is... a bit... personal... *COUGH* :"> I actually get senses of strangers more than people I know, but it seems only people I know relatively well want to know. :)) It's odd 'cause sometimes it's hard and I'm like... 'I'M NOT A FRAUD I SWEAR'. But.
You didn't ask, but: you'd be something bubbly and fizzy (possibly even crunchy... but not really), like a strawberry-lemon drink, except that's only at the surface. There's also a 'darker', denser-textured prickly-sweetness, a bit like cooked sweet blueberries, or fresh ones if they're chocolate-covered for the crunch, but that seems too sweet; maybe it's like those sugared slices of lemon and orange and mango-- actually mango fits well. You also remind me of those yummy crackers with salty spreads and the fresh translucence of cucumbers and cheeeeeese. CHEESE. :D

Date: 2006-04-13 12:23 am (UTC)I think the texture is v. smooth, reminds me of the clear soft sweetness of cucumber in sour cream with a tang of lemon, maybe. There's also some energizing scents to it like green apple and maybe a bit of raspberry :>
...it really does sound like a skin-cream, it seems ^^;;

Date: 2006-04-18 04:26 pm (UTC)But no. Um... it took me awhile to get a 'reading' 'cause some people are more obviously 'present' that way in my head than others; there seems to be no pattern to it. But anyway...
I'm thinking sharp sour things with sweet gooey parts like green apples in honey or cherry juice (you also make me think of cherries in general... dunno why). Also stuff like new leather... y'know, the squeaky kind. And citrusy lipgloss, for more obvious reasons. And something like those cocktails with pineapple and frothy ice-cream and vodka. Definitely vodka :>

Date: 2006-04-17 03:24 pm (UTC)WHAT DO I TASTE LIKE???111!!!
no subject
Date: 2006-04-18 03:39 pm (UTC)But. You remind me of the tastes/smells of a rustic peasant-type cabin-- the sharp, salty smell of the sea, the warm smokeyness of a fire, the oddly dry sweetness of hay, stuff like that. WEIRD I KNOW ><;;; There's also spicier elements, but still 'dry' like cinnamon or... heh... nutmeg :D

And yes, I have been called Nutmeg as a nickname.
