...So yet another person has defriended me that has never said absolutely -anything- to me on my lj or elsewhere. o_0 I'm trying to think if there are people on my flist I've -never- talked to, and... there are 2 out of 70. One is [livejournal.com profile] lupercali, which is [livejournal.com profile] rageprufrock's HP fic journal wherein she never posts anymore, and the other is [livejournal.com profile] nc17rated, which is [livejournal.com profile] mneomosyne's smut-pic journal, and I may have talked to her once, but basically... yeah; I don't tend to friend people I won't talk to, like, -ever- in the first place. ^^;;; I know people do lurk a lot, and so do I sometimes, but damn. It always makes me go "....okay..." (before I snap out of it, like... now).
    BUT ANYWAY.

I was just thinking that I think my first impression of people (online) is by the emotional 'taste' they have. Like. This one person who likes Snape always 'tasted' sour and dark and oily-yet-taffy-like, so I didn't like them much. This other person reminds me of raspberries and sharp sweet things, maybe the watery tang of watermelon and a dash of kiwi. I really like her a lot. Hahah.

So! Comment if you want me to tell you what you taste like :)) ♥

I think you can forget about lupercali, she said she was finished with HP.

Great description of Snape lovers, more than whoever you were thinking of. A clogging, yet biting taste/smell in the nose, perhaps.

Hm, do you have a taste for me? We always only chat in your journal!

Hee, I just realized it's easier with some than with others! With you it took me a bit to get my bearings, 'cause you're a very transparent, light taste. The first thing that came to mind was something water-based, but that's not quite right, I just think it's subtle; traslucent?
...It's a weird mix of smoke (something that's not heavy in the air and oddly sweet, like cloves) and other, even subtler smells like lavender water and sharp green and piney, still clear even when congealed. Not sweet or bitter but with hints of sourness & musk, and even then it's hard to place.

...That... probably makes no sense -.- Well, I -am- sleepy :>

*lol* that's interesting, and surprising enough (lavender and green have been mentioned before, but transluscent, moi?) that I had to read it three times. Sounds cool!

Ahahaha, there are -other- people who give taste-tests?? Well, I guess there -are- all those quizes on lj :>

Bitter? Tell me.

With some people it's more extreme & obvious than others! But you aren't bitter. Hm.
Something very very sharp and dark/musky though, not edible; I'm thinking more like mens' cologne, but that's not quite right. I think I mean-- more alcoholic. Yeah, I think you're definitely a cocktail drink, with that heavy burning kick and the fruitiness. Some strawberry in there, some lemon. But something that burns at my taste-buds at the center. Not a harsh drink. It probably has a straw :>

Woohoo! I have a straw!

Seriously, that is so cool. I would love to be a drink like that.

How can anyone see this and not respond.

I don't "taste" people, per se, but I do associate other things with them for some reason. For you, Reena, every time I picture you, you are always in the choir room in my high school, sitting where I used to sit in the alto section. Why? I do not know. But that is where you live in my imagination.

Date: 2006-04-07 09:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] yourpoison.livejournal.com
Hee! You were the raspberry. I associate you with all things sweet yet with a sour kick. I'd also say green apples and vanilla sometimes, that hint of warm muskiness, a thicker more soothing texture. Um. *coughs* OKAY THEN. :">

...I definitely would sit alone, either high up or right up in front where there's also fewer people (since they're mostly behind me). But I've never been in a choir room :(

Omg, I feel slightly embarrassed now ^^;;;;;;
.............*facepalm* but okay, I asked for it.
I think they're all professor's office smells/tastes: old books (y'know, those ones with thick ridged paper and gold cloth bookmarks), leather, coffee. Sometimes there's something sharp and fresh, like the taste in the air when it's sort of winter but sort of spring.

From: [identity profile] yourpoison.livejournal.com
PS: (this seems important)
It's definitely not black coffee-- when I thought more on it, I totally forgot the creamy-sweetness. I also think chai would work, maybe even better because of the frothy milk and the cinnamon. But the old book dusky-muskiness stays :>

Well, you're describing some of my favorite smells, books and paper and winter air, so yaye! for synaesthesia. And I love the detail of your descriptions, the ridged paper and the winter/spring thing. I will settle for the aura of the stacks if I can be allowed some creamy sweetness. :)

I tried in my head to return the favor, but my brain just isn't wired the same way, I'm sorry! Though I think I have a visual image that I associate with you, something like a pointillist painting, just a bit elusive, deliberately concealing its underlying concreteness and rigor.

Tell me what I taste like! Aja once told me Vanilla Coke. :-?

From: [identity profile] yourpoison.livejournal.com
It's hard to pin down. I can see the vanilla & maybe the bubbliness, but I'd say the vanilla would need to be warmed, not cooled. Something like spiced hot cider, with a cinnamon stick, warm and smoky with that hint of nutmeg & cloves, and if there was froth and vanilla and sweetness, it would be more of a froth than the meaty center. ^^; Or...something like that. *cough* But there is also a lighter scent of spring-- the translucence of rosepetal and something a bit fruitier, like appleblossoms or jasmine. But my favorite part's probably the smoky cloves and cinnamon :>

i taste like sunshine.

i think i've at least exchanged a comment or two with everyone who's on my flist, if not a bit more. i friend back on kind of a haphazard basis. it is this: i look at the journal of the person. and if they are interesting, i shall reciprocate.

and that is my system. it's a good system.

Date: 2006-04-08 12:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] yourpoison.livejournal.com
Yeah, that's mine too, though... I feel bad, 'cause most people who friend me don't seem interesting enough, but then... uh... I'm picky. *cringes*

I know you didn't ask, but you're actually one of the easier ones, though: lemony sharp, maybe even pepperminty (something like sunshine if it was... acidic) but with a darker softer-smooth feel underneath, like... not so much a strong taste as a texture, the way bitterish chocolate mousse is. ^^;;;;

it makes me sad when anyone defriends me, whether i know them or not. i have sensitive feelings, godfuckingdamnit! :"> and it makes me paranoid that i've done something to offend them, even though most times it's completely not personal--like, especially if they've never even talked to you.

and this whole tasting thing? you should know i now have a mental image of you running around, gleefully licking people. maybe you actually do that in your spare time. what do i know.

Date: 2006-04-08 12:23 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] yourpoison.livejournal.com
I know, I get paranoid too! But it's even worse when I have no clue about the person and can't tell for -sure- if it's personal or not; though maybe it's better :-? *confused*

HAHAHA I know, I'm chagrined now 'cause the whole taste thing is... a bit... personal... *COUGH* :"> I actually get senses of strangers more than people I know, but it seems only people I know relatively well want to know. :)) It's odd 'cause sometimes it's hard and I'm like... 'I'M NOT A FRAUD I SWEAR'. But.
You didn't ask, but: you'd be something bubbly and fizzy (possibly even crunchy... but not really), like a strawberry-lemon drink, except that's only at the surface. There's also a 'darker', denser-textured prickly-sweetness, a bit like cooked sweet blueberries, or fresh ones if they're chocolate-covered for the crunch, but that seems too sweet; maybe it's like those sugared slices of lemon and orange and mango-- actually mango fits well. You also remind me of those yummy crackers with salty spreads and the fresh translucence of cucumbers and cheeeeeese. CHEESE. :D

Hee. Sorry it took me so long, had to... er... recharge ^^;;
I think the texture is v. smooth, reminds me of the clear soft sweetness of cucumber in sour cream with a tang of lemon, maybe. There's also some energizing scents to it like green apple and maybe a bit of raspberry :>
...it really does sound like a skin-cream, it seems ^^;;

Hahah, I was actually thinking of that, though I meant a combination of soothing and zesty(??) but not sour or overly sweet. It's odd how some tastes come to me easily and some remain elusive, even if I know there should be more :/ But still more... refreshing than calming. Maybe. :>

For some reason I'm thinking rum & cherries, but mostly it's smells rather than tastes, like that burn in your nose-- y'know, the smell of snow, and also smokier scents & fragrant ashes like myrrh and sandalwood. I think it's a lot like those chocolate candies with rum in them, and also a hint of bile.

Oh yah, the mysterious friending/defriending thing? That's why I moved back to this journal >_> I didn't want people to friend the other LJ, expecting HP pr0n or something, only to defriend me 2 weeks later when their their expectations aren't met. Fjksdf I shouldn't care about such things but it's still annoying. :(( And almost all of the people who friended this journal are those with whom I've always communicated with more or less on a regular basis anyway, so it all worked out :P

Can you even answer that for me? Do you know me too well? Do I taste like evil?

Heheh, well, now I'm tempted to say you taste like kittens, that's close enough to evil :> :> (Plus you will always make me think of kittens.)
But no. Um... it took me awhile to get a 'reading' 'cause some people are more obviously 'present' that way in my head than others; there seems to be no pattern to it. But anyway...

I'm thinking sharp sour things with sweet gooey parts like green apples in honey or cherry juice (you also make me think of cherries in general... dunno why). Also stuff like new leather... y'know, the squeaky kind. And citrusy lipgloss, for more obvious reasons. And something like those cocktails with pineapple and frothy ice-cream and vodka. Definitely vodka :>

WHAT DO I TASTE LIKE???111!!!

Date: 2006-04-18 03:39 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] yourpoison.livejournal.com
Hahah, I didn't know this was -that- exciting :D It's hard to figure out for some people-- it's like I know them too well or something, or with some I 'feel' them with taste them more than others. Like... some people are colors more-- with my ex he will always be the color 'deep red', y'know, so if I described a taste it'd be because of the color moreso than him. If that makes sense, which it probably doesn't :>

But. You remind me of the tastes/smells of a rustic peasant-type cabin-- the sharp, salty smell of the sea, the warm smokeyness of a fire, the oddly dry sweetness of hay, stuff like that. WEIRD I KNOW ><;;; There's also spicier elements, but still 'dry' like cinnamon or... heh... nutmeg :D

And yes, I have been called Nutmeg as a nickname.
