reenka....I just got two reviews on Eros & Sapphos (an archive that prides itself for being grammar-checked before things get posted) for my Ginny/Pansy fic-- and I was so happy, wow, now I have eight reviews for that fic, that's a huge amount for me! I mean, my all-time record on these archives is 27 and that was because people were disturbed by the subject matter, okay. Of course, they both(!) complimented me on my wonderfully refreshing lack of grammar mistakes.

What's worse yet, one of the reviewers spelled it 'grammer'. *cries!!*
Oh fandom. I bet those people don't even realize that to compliment one on a lack of grammar mistakes is really no compliment at all. I mean, that would take too much of a paradigm shift, right? No, I don't want to be complimented for how much or how little smut there is (I mean, at least tell me it's -good- smut, or-- something). No, I don't want to be complimented for my basic grammar usage and ability to use spell-check (although generally I just know how to spell 'cause, you know, I graduated Junior High!) No, I don't want to be told you liked my story just because you like the pairing (and no, conversely, I'm not hurt if you rant at me that my fic is awful because the pairing is Teh Devil, Omg!!1 or something-- really, am I twelve?). Though I get the feeling a lot of people aren't entirely sincere when they say flames make 'em laugh-- well, they don't make me laugh, but they do make me roll my eyes.
Yeah, usually it does feel good to be told someone liked your fic even though they hate the pairing-- though I wonder why they read it. And that's only if the reviewer doesn't make it sound as if they're doing you a favor by allowing that your fic is okay even -though- the pairing sucks. Thanks but no thanks.
Really, I can't care less if you love or hate the fic's pairing-- I mean, even if someone says a fic is their 'favorite incest story' that makes me feel weird 'cause-- now it's an 'incest story' rather than just a good (bad?) fic with incest in it. Though, you know, thanks for the feedback, all that. *sigh*

Nah, it's just the backlight *g* but their lightness in it shows there's no mascara, and the curl is so cute. *cough* On a 38yr old man, who will never know I said that.
