~just in case...
Jul. 30th, 2002 04:59 pmwhoever reads (or doesn't read, as is more likely) this journal hasn't come across
amalin's latest story, this is just to remind you to immediately remedy that horrible omission. first antenora's the losing side, then
rhoddlet, and now this... my own efforts seem kind of... wan, and limp, now.
the last two, i worship for style and mood and language-- which are supposedly my strengths-- though no one's actually ever told me what my strengths were (um, or maybe i've forgotten-- the more i write the more vulnerable to self-criticism i seem to get). but antenora! that much plot and strategy and suspence-writing boggles my mind. i don't know -why- people think all the good writers are male, white, and dead. jealousy?? ha. there's some -amazing- stuff being written. and actually, i wouldn't say the majority of it is published ;p ...actually, the majority of what's -published- is kinda, crap. but that's not the writers' fault is it. nope. it's the editors :) heh. i mean, take one look at ff.net and you notice there's no shortage of bloody AWFUL drivel out there to publish, take your pick.
it'd be so cool being an editor, or a producer-- one of those jobs. 'cause then i'd get to say-- "i love you! here's your check! go write more, and fast!" hehehe. *grins* oh, the joy. i could actually set timelines for other people, and be evil. and get glimpses at half-finished work, if i play nice, maybe? scary. there's a grown-up professional lurking somewhere beneath my fangirl exterior. or not. i just want -more- baby more :)
