...Holy cow, Y - The Last Man rocks da house o_0!! (Um... I mean the comic. Er.)

Y'know, I'd never actually want women to um, have all the power anymore than men... or like, chickens. And if every man died, I really would miss most of the musicians out there like crazy. Dude. And how much do I love Yorick "I'm not your fucking sister" Brown, omg?? <33333 *sigh* Gotta love me some wise-cracking overly-romantic magician-- ahem, escape-artist hero <3. Non-sarcastic protagonists sort of make me sad ^^;;
    Man. I think if women ruled the world, things would get scary in their own special way, yeah....

I sort of guessed it probably wasn't when you used the word "fucking", since, like, I don't think she would have used that. But I wasn't sure if you were just using creative license.

That's some creative license :> Hee!
Yorick's dad was a Shakespeare scholar. His sister's Hero :> It's just... really cool, and well worth reading :D Great sci-fi, great dialogue, great geeky references, great characters... it's just great :D

"Y" is amazingly awesome. It blows me away every time I read more of it.

God! Those Amazons! I want to slaughter them! And I don't have to feel like a bad feminist for doing so!

In college, I was a Women's Studies major, and I really wish I had read this then. I could have written a kickass paper on it.

Ha! I'm happy there's at least someone who read this who likes the comic too :D :D I think what I love most about it (predictably) is the main character, all the geeky references & the amazing dialogue-- and everyone, even the bad guys (...) is so well-rendered I can't find it in me to hate them, only pity them. Though I have to admit, Queen Victoria is pretty much a psycho. I really liked the whole thing with them being rehabilitated at the prison (though I wonder how in the hell those women know how to deprogram anyone). And I love that there are so many enemies/allies and they're constantly shifting as to which is which-- everything's always moving, always being redefined in terms of plot even as the characterization remains consistent. I'm totally blown away with each new issue, yeah :D

It's just so... it always has that intristic subtlety I was talking about (not very competently) in my post earlier, where everyone's motivations are grey, and everyone fucks up and acts like an asshole sometimes and there aren't many hard-and-fast divisions between bad guys & good guys, except for the psychos, which are just... psycho. Also, I suspect maybe the girl in the church will start to help the Amazons and/or give them new purpose-- this is just a guess :> I wouldn't be surprised if they become nuns of good will in the end or something-- I'm pretty sure Hero's gonna be some sort of Florence Nightingale after all, I'm just not sure how yet, obviously, haha.

Man, I dunno if I'd wanna write a paper on it, though there's tons there to explore... I'm still not sure if researching something I love 'seriously' takes the fun out of it (for me, at least) or not :>

Btw, hahah, your icon so totally describes how I spent most of my adolescence-- and probably quite a few off days to this day :>
