...I just could never hope that what I wanted from Harry & Draco post-OoTP could be finally (finally!) given to me by canon instead of an H/D fanfic.

This. I refused to hope for this. Refused. And people have been semi-spoiling me so I don't even -know- (not for sure), but just going the way it's going and JUST Draco getting one up on Harry and JUST Harry obsessing over him and omg JUST JUST JUST JUST AAAAH. I can't even.

I was just thinking, actually, reading the last chapter of `Eclipse' right before HBP, that I don't need H/D actual slash-- that the tension and the UST and the preslashy intensity between them is what I adore and come back for. And. Well.

PPS. I keep thinking that Draco could've hexed him much worse than he did-- could've really hurt him, and didn't. Didn't. Went for the personal, for the violent, which he never does-- Draco doesn't do violence. Oh. Just. Oh. My. God.

And Harry hates him more than ever :D :D :D Oh, I am so happy. I. Wow. This feels more like my birthday than my birthday did :D

...You know, some H/D shippers I know have claimed that H/D could only make sense post-Hogwarts. And who proved them wrong? Yep. JKR. Oh man oh man.

I wouldn't actually be surprised if after that promised epilogue at the end of book 7 it became clear that H/D could only work well -in- Hogwarts.

Other people's overt enthusiasm always makes me feel...less, get more coldly analytical. Like I'd said in my earlier post. If I paid more attention to anyone in fandom, I'd totally be even more contrary, and I -want- to enjoy the book too much. I just can't resist posting even the 5% of what I've been thinking.

I had negative/cold thoughts but when I started to wallow I just decided I was being a loser and to just enjoy the love. Maybe I'll try to be negative in a month or so.

This to say I understand <3 but Draco trumps anything.

The lack of favoritism is what I like best about canon and want to cultivate in myself as I read. :/

Awww maybe you just have the wrong flists! :))) I loved Harry's little obsessive ways and his in-your-face attitudes and um, but I don't want to spoil it for you.

...But then when people say this is H/D and OoTP wasn't, I wanna meep & hide and/or cry :P I really loved the OoTP dynamic; I never thought canon!H/D was dead/hurt to start with. I feel... stifled.

Yeah, I understand, just feel maybe I shouldn't have posted until I'd finished reading & maybe for a week afterwards :/

aaaaaah man i know about ootp, and that meta universe still lives in my heart, plus ootp (which i keep typing otp) just was building to this, in a meta way i will explain when i'm less high.

you know i really want to write the rpg fic now that it's au and just for us. plus i also want to start a sekrit community to write ootp au fics... ahaha, i am so lame.

you know i am really undecided whether i should turn the hermit fic into a au or make it a original story.

I can totally see how OoTP led up to HBP-- that just makes it the way GoF led up to OoTP-- which it did. I just... like the emotional rawness mostest in terms of story-fodder. I like other sorts of stories, but the raw/angry ones are what I like to -write-.

Haha, I guess this means I'm still motivated to write my own AU novellas :-?

...As for the hermit fic, I'd say it depends on whether they'd really Harry & Draco in your head.
