I'm only posting the things I can't bear not to say RIGHT NOW.
...I just could never hope that what I wanted from Harry & Draco post-OoTP could be finally (finally!) given to me by canon instead of an H/D fanfic.
Draco's got his. I was literally so happy I cried.
I just. Thank you, JKR.
That is all.
PS. No, I mean. I'm a bit WTF though, I must admit. I... it... I mean.
This. I refused to hope for this. Refused. And people have been semi-spoiling me so I don't even -know- (not for sure), but just going the way it's going and JUST Draco getting one up on Harry and JUST Harry obsessing over him and omg JUST JUST JUST JUST AAAAH. I can't even.
I was just thinking, actually, reading the last chapter of `Eclipse' right before HBP, that I don't need H/D actual slash-- that the tension and the UST and the preslashy intensity between them is what I adore and come back for. And. Well.
HELLO, BOOK 6!!1oaiufdlak;jflamkjglmjfsd
PPS. I keep thinking that Draco could've hexed him much worse than he did-- could've really hurt him, and didn't. Didn't. Went for the personal, for the violent, which he never does-- Draco doesn't do violence. Oh. Just. Oh. My. God.
And Harry hates him more than ever :D :D :D Oh, I am so happy. I. Wow. This feels more like my birthday than my birthday did :D
...You know, some H/D shippers I know have claimed that H/D could only make sense post-Hogwarts. And who proved them wrong? Yep. JKR. Oh man oh man.
I wouldn't actually be surprised if after that promised epilogue at the end of book 7 it became clear that H/D could only work well -in- Hogwarts.

Date: 2005-07-17 10:01 am (UTC)HORRID SAPFLUFF OMG WTF??! IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE, OMG WHAT HAVE I COME TO??!)- Draco Malfoy's Lucky Day -
It was sunshiny out, and Harry thought he smelt the pleasant combination of wildflowers, the sweet polish of his broom, and something else. Something else he didn't think about.
Draco was sprawled next to him, shirt open a few buttons, half-dozing on Harry's lap. Harry was stroking Draco's hair slowly, trying not to think of it as 'grooming', because that would've made him groan, and he felt too good. Entirely too good.
Draco hadn't said anything in a while, but he didn't need to, and in enough ways, Harry still preferred he didn't. They had an still-fragile understanding like this, and he was loath to threaten it.
Harry leaned back, his hand slowing further against Draco's gleaming hair, and sighed. Who'd have thought? No one, and least of all himself. Suddenly, he laughed-- the sheer incredulous joy bubbling over.
This wasn't obsession at all. He'd accidentally taken the potion, he'd figured that much out early enough. But this wasn't obsession; it was contentment.
He leaned down with a sense of newfound purpose and-- missed-- kissing right below Draco's eye.
Draco squinted up warily, mouth quirking up at one corner only slightly. He was too content to manage a proper smirk, it seemed. Harry felt pleased with himself, really.
"What was that for, Potter?" he drawled, with only slight irritation.
"I felt lucky," Harry said.
Re: ...!
Date: 2005-07-17 03:06 pm (UTC)AHHHHHHHHH. Oh Reena.
"I got lucky," Harry said, because Draco Malfoy was within earshot. OR WHATEVER THAT LINE SAID. Just. YAY.
I have every faith in the world that book 7 will open with a scene like this:
Harry: *glower* *thinks about Draco's sleek blond head*
Draco: *icy stare* As I've been thrown out of the DE league I've decided I might as well help you find the last horcrux, as you're so incompetent Rowling will have to extend her book contract otherwise.
Harry: *glower* Fine. But only because I have to learn to love your humanity in order to defeat the Dark Lord.
Draco: *flutter* If you'll do some exploring, I believe you'll find my humanity is very loveable, Potter.
