Oh, I was enthusiastic. But now I find myself tossing the book onto the end of the couch and picking up Brian Jacques' Triss instead. There's just something... wrong with HBP for me. Even if it does provide a plethora of delicious H/D potential for me to sink my teeth into in the future. Still, I dunno. I'll read it, but I'll only read it so I know what the fuck is going on in the fanfics. As a stand-alone piece of writing seperate from the fandom, it's worse than mediocre, even by "Children's Lit" standards.
