May. 8th, 2005 12:40 pm...Only I could get to New York late with bad fall-type shoes which hurt my feet, decide to change to new sandals only to find they scraped my skin and finally I couldn't walk much at all, then sit in the square by Rockefeller center in the middle of tourist NY, waiting for
ishuca to find my cellphone messages, cold and wounded but not miserable, no... because in the new Books of Magic series, Life in Wartime, there's canon slash <3
It's sort of like Harry/Draco if Draco was a demon who worshipped Harry for being the prophecied savior of the universe yet had to protect him, only to be rejected and uh, pushed to the dark side, except....
Mostly it seems that demonic types obsessed with heroic types makes me happy-happy. And it's yet more dramatic when the fate of the universe is at stake, too :> Maybe it's that he animated a piece of rock, called him 'Tim' and then french-kissed him. You just can't beat that.
PS. If anyone wants to see me in NYC, PLEASE DO. My comics have run out :((

Date: 2005-05-08 10:15 am (UTC)I'm through issue 6 :(( Wah. I was so happy he was like, dead instead of on some ongoing mission to kill Tim, that would've been vaguely upsetting. Wahhh. Of course I didn't really like Brewster one way or the other till he had the unrequited love thing going on-- hell, I didn't even like the new Tim that much until issue 5. *is very predictable* :>

Date: 2005-05-08 11:18 am (UTC)This is issue 5, so it would be worth it to read the other 4 before it, I think (would make more sense). It's a new series, psychological horror and lots of demons everywhere and y'know, inter-dimensional wars & lots of John Constantine. Not precisely the old Tim by any means, but it has its own insane sort of charm. But perhaps issue 5 would be a good jumping in point too? You'd probably be somewhat lost though ^^;
But omg, demon = hot :>

Date: 2005-05-08 11:45 am (UTC)I also wanted to get some Constantine, and as we do't have them here and it will be expensive I think issue 5 is indeed a good jumping point.
I am used to being lost *g* Plus, after all the manga and perusing scans_daily I would be surprised to actually know the backstory for once.

Also, you have no comics? Go to Donell library...they have a small (but decent) collection there.

...you never know, I think Manhattan could turn into a floating rocket-propelled island any day now ^^; At that point it should be easy as pie to just... steer east.
