Okay, so like... I just wrote the uncoolest, shmoopiest ficlet on the planet (and possibly OF ALL TIME), so basically I feel really uncool... so I wanna avoid my novella some more write some other fandom & see if gets my juices flowing in the yaye-cool direction. Like, witty snarky loserish High School boys... except not The OC, because that's just not gonna happen with me, all right... Anyway.

I was thinking! I never really slash characters of my own initiative unless they're fighting each other in that sweaty-angry-grrr sort of way (video games have WARPED MY SOUL)-- but in the case of Frank Portman's King Dork, I can totally see it (the Tom/Sam, I mean). See myself writing it, that is. I mean, it's like slashing Dead Poets Society or like, A Separate Peace or whatever, 'cause it has these two best friends and they're both teenage guys & they're cute and oh-so-hetero, etc, except, um-- y'know, takes place in the 90s, so it's just easier somehow ^^;;

Anyway! Um. You guys-- at least someone-- would have to read it and tell me if they see the slash. Or would want to see it. (From me.) Or. Something like that. Yeah. Um. :> And of course (because I need to get my Coolness Mojo back), it would have to be dirty dirty awkward!boysex pr0n :D >:D I mean, I would write it right now! ...Except no one's gonna read it :/

...Sometimes I really envy Sara people who write hot random band!PRS :> 'Cause like, this book totally had a band in it. And it's like, a RULE that the teenage guitarist/singer has to 'experiment' with the teenage bass-player Best Friend 'cause like, he gets tired of being strung along by his gf who thinks he's not Good Enough to go public with, etcetc :D :D

You know, I usually think I sound too serious, or obsessed, or explain things too much or not enough, or sound too 'artsy' or faux!thinky without meaning to, whatever.

So of course when I make a really silly/casual post about wanting to write 'King Dork' slash, THE WRITER HIMSELF has to see and POST ON HIS BLOG ABOUT IT to the consternation and superior bemusement of his readers, like 'ewww, slash' and 'oh, it's one of -those- people' & 'wtf is that person saying??' type reactions. :/

Actually, my first response was all 'lakflkajdfklsvdjhOMGWTFWOW' (laughing my ass off), but it's also kind of... scary, y'know. It made me realize just -how- much we're living in our own tiny bubble which people really -wouldn't- get, much as I like to blithely pretend otherwise, because people don't -suck-, do they? Like, they don't suck enough to constantly dismiss things they don't understand, do they?? Oh wait. :/

It's also REALLY weird and freaky to know a 'real writer' could read this-- hell, -JKR- could be reading us without any of us the wiser!! The whole thing just made me realize I respect & admire the author of a book I like... FROM A DISTANCE. I definitely want my space, man. And also, anti-slash oh-I'm-so-superior people deserve to have dirty raunchy RPS written about them till they faint from shock :P

EDIT - Holy crap, they don't make H/D vids like they used to o_0 Omg... just, watched the recent fluffy H/D vid of DOOM~! My EYES, my eyes!!1 Or should I say, the MANIPS, the manips!! :(( Watched the whole thing 'cause I saw someone say it made them remember why they shipped H/D. Made -me- remember why I avoid most fic like the plague, personally :P Of course, nothing can match the GENIUS of 'The Way Things Are' vid for pure unfiltered H/D spirit, not even silviakundera's vids. ♥♥♥. FOR SERIOUS!
