so. i didn't mean to do this. actually, i meant to finish my fic & dedicate it to ivy (and then there's the -other- birthday, but we won't talk about that... er...), but it's just not happening until at least mid-september, and that's just sad. so i was listening to nightswimming and i associate that so strongly with the first chapter of `origins', and i was in the mood.... to summarize, this is the product of a late-night overdose on wistful late-80s rock. hello, elton john.

anyway. this is for ivyblossom. ahem.

i read amanuensis1's post about the common use of "contrivance" to write harry/snape fics, and am now wibbling like a madwoman.

the writing angst just doesn't stop. just. doesn't stop. maybe i should start numbering the days. i don't know, i think it's about two weeks? it's around day 18 of "reena goes insane and decides to write longfic seriously for once". i may not come out alive.

( h/d realism woes, novella-writing woes, stupid `why am i doing this at all' woes. etc. )
