Things That Will Make Me Skip Over Your Story:
    or at least wish i had.

...gacked from resonant8... )

    i am a plebe, ahahahaha, but so is tom!! the latest video of him that ivy linked to just... erm... inspired me. this is probably the one and only time (thank gahd) i'll go all out with tom felton love like this, but hey. grab it while it lasts. (though tell me if you do just 'cause i'm curious like that.)

wheee! icons! -.- )

also. the cuteness of remus/sirius was killing me. but it didn't quite kill me -dead- until i found canis m's fanart (not to mention her fanfic, heh). this and this *melts*
    and yes, everyone is better at the hp character meme than me, but i don't mind. *worships [livejournal.com profile] kitsune13 along with trin & SF*

reading other people's, i get this feeling like... well... like you all read the same books. *laughs* ack, i'm not really posting, 'cause i posted this as a comment to cassie claire's entry, but what the heck, i love talking about fictional crushes (i remember listing them in my journal when i was 16 for my own amusement, even-- yes, i wrote essays with no one to read them, even-- god i'm lame-- i'm not even good at essays).

what i mean is, everyone has read `good omens'-- whereas i couldn't get into it, much as i adore neil to the point of dizziness. everyone seems to have read `dark is rising'-- and you know what? i read the other series by susan cooper (just how unusual is that?). yep. scarred me, it did. actually no, it was really good, but it was so depressing, and by the end i couldn't take it anymore so i only skimmed the last book. i still thought it was wonderful (mostly). but i couldn't take any more of her writing after that. and no, i haven't read anne rice (don't love any vampires but spike, plus her writing... doesn't do it for me).
    i haven't read `pride and prejudice'. i've read loads of its ilk (`jane eyre' and so on) when i was nine and ten, but not that, for some reason. i got sucked in by fantasy books, heh. but i'm just stunned, really, 'cause it seems like almost -half- of the people have had a crush on mr. darcy. that strikes me as rather odd (statistically speaking, what does `pride and prejudice' have to do with harry potter?).

even with diana wynne jones-- i think i read everything but what the others have mentioned. my favorite diana wynne jones are probably the chrestomanci books, but i really really love `witch week', `the time of the ghost' (read it!), `deep secret' and `dark lord of derkholm' (which has a sequel apparently!!).
    i always knew my fiction tastes were unique, but man. *laughs* even among those who like the same stuff, i manage to read the other books -.-

i think maybe i'm finally getting a sense of what other sorts of books go along with reading `harry potter' (a -lot- people have apparently read `the secret garden', whereas that's one of the few i haven't read 'cause i don't know if it was translated into russian). but seriously. why do so many of you have a crush on dickon? is there something i'm missing? i dunno-- although i did crush on them all, in the movie. ehehehe.
    <-- infidel.

so anyway, here's the list-- )

and man, i'm listening to saliva's `always' on repeat now. i blame [livejournal.com profile] idiotparade, i really really really do ><;;
    although writing angsty h/d isn't a bad thing, i have so much studying to do i think i may as well die now.
~~

    EDIT - i almost never cry over stories. but this just -killed- me. i don't even know what to say. just, read sloane's `the semantics of statues'. seriously. it's just. it's everything i'm looking for and yet it leaves me hollow and in pain and wanting. god.
