~~catching up

it seems like my aching fire to rec, rec, rec, and rec yet more has gone down-- ok so mostly the number of fics i've yet left unexplored has gone down. the Trilogy is beckoning me and smirking, oh, how it's smirking. it'll kill me, i know it. it'll inspire me to write my draco/ginny though, maybe (*laughs madly*). yes, that evil fic that shall not be named. (well, isn't named at the moment, but hey. maybe That Which Shall Not Be Named, is a good intriguing sort of title, anyway).

but. ishuca's updated `plague of legends', so up i hold the reccing banner once again. there are a number of good fics. a number. well. they're all evilly in progress, and evilly slowly updated, but we shall not talk about that, shall we. anyway, but it's strange how every fic pushes a different button. like it pulls at a slightly different piece of my heart-- it has its own unique resonance within me. i sort of like that. PoL is probably the closest, out of everything i've read, to the sort of harry/draco epic i'd write myself, if i could/had anything to say. although i'd probably go into harry more, and make draco a bit more of a loser. i like pathetic!draco (ie, the draco of comedies rather than tragedies) too much to ever lose my admittedly short leash on him.

and as far as bits and pieces of stuff i'd enjoyed lately, if anyone cares, there's ``playing with fire" by glasgowgirl, which just kind of has a good obsessed-with-malfoy!harry, who is a rare creature (um, done remotely well). but in the end, it's got to just make sense within the fic, and this one pulls that off.
    ``adore through darkness" has a promising beginning, with all sorts of hints and the amusing scenario where ron and hermione not only know that draco likes harry, but are trying to help sort things out (harry's forgotten something important, it seems). gah, how i loff new plot-twists. and surreal situations, apparently. and good writing, even more apparently.
    on-the-prowl!harry by hibiscus, in the `guns and handcuffs' cookie jar was too cute. hee. meeping!malfoy. i can see it. yes. i mean, it's not like malfoy would ever admit to anything unless he was put under duress ^^;;

    a cookie from a new h/d story by marysiak, harry potter and the new order, has got my attention in quite the delightful way. it seems new, somehow. maybe because the tickling angle hasn't been touched upon yet (hee! i don't see why not, really). i mean, you're sleepy, out-of-it, you get hysterical, and start tickle-torturing someone. see, all those fight-scenes-- you didn't need them. who knew? hee.

lastly, ethrosdemon rocks my world with her new harry/draco-- especially the latest bit, house-elf mayhem and all. biscuits. laundry-lovin'!malfoy. to die for. see, once again, there's no reason why they have to "get to know each other better" on the quidditch pitch or in the potions classroom or in the halls, bumping into each other. no. hee! the kitchens. oh, i'll never forget the kitchens now. ha, and neither will i forget a draco who's seeming to channel dumbledore just the tiniest bit. *dies* of course, this means i have to write harry/ron/hermione, but we all make sacrifices. somehow, maybe i'll involve the whole gryffindor house in a big huge orgy by the end. with flobberworms. and tentacle-sex. yes.
    proof that silviakundera is a genius. calvin & hobbes do harry/draco..! (or is that vice versa??) *dies* this is just-- ha. just right. *yawns* i'm all about the anvils and the devilishly-full-of-himself cute boy you just adore, even though he's a pompous ass. yes. hee ~:D
