~~Mysteries...
Aug. 22nd, 2002 09:01 am( because who wants poetry, anyway.... )
i was immediately thinking of ``and death shall have no dominion" after reading
amalin's latest ficlet. ah, i'm such a poetry geek ;P
although.... this time, i thought it was particularly appropriate. i'm not trying to get all shmoopy (oh lord, not again anyway) or mystical, just-- yes, i think death is the end. but it isn't. love itself is the happy ending. the moment is the eternity. the belief is the realization. etc, etc, and so on, and so forth. that poem pretty much says that, except a zillion times better than me :> pain, and endings, and destruction, aren't as powerful, really, as hope, and love, and creation. or at least-- it's an eternal sort of balance. neither can defeat the other-- they both need the other to exist after all. yin and yang. i live and i die. love continues. death i think is no parentheses ;)
( wrote a ficlet in response to amalin's story, actually..... )
