~dangerous and soft...
Jul. 23rd, 2002 11:23 pmit actually just occurred to me that some people favor some pairings not because it satisfies some deep ideology of theirs, or because they think it would be "right" and "beautiful" and um.... "grand" or whatever. but because it's like, what tickles their wickle, ya know. i mean, i'm sure this has occurred to me before. but it always surprises me. i think-- hmmmm-- i bet that person didn't write that lucius/draco or draco/snape or snape/harry-or-ron-or-herm-or-draco fic because it'd just be... you know, what they all needed. rather. it's what the -writer- needed, and they don't feel their characters' indignation, or even outright outrage and pain. i mean, i was never one of those writers who heard their characters "speak" to them and "haunt" them. though that'd be cool. except maybe draco and harry haunt me, but they're not really my characters so it's all really kinda moot isn't it.
um. i guess i just wonder. if the writer asks her inner draco, sooooo, drakey. whatcha think, eh? you, your dad, some twisted s&m...?? sounds wicked, huh? (*laughs*) yah, i bet that's what they do. "at least you get a broomstick in the bargain."
actually, i guess draco could resent being paired with harry, too, but i just don't see it. he's obsessed with harry, that much is clear. now, sex, when it comes to obsession that strong, can definitely be seen as a means to an end. that is-- if you want to dominate and humiliate and-- well-- "have" someone-- you don't get squeamish at the means you have to use i guess this is sounding like some sort of rape scenario. but i don't think so. i think it's just-- any strong emotion, negative or positive, eliminates room in your heart and mind for others, if it's of the obsessive kind. probably why harry isn't getting it on with -anybody- in "reality" since he's actually only that "stuck" on voldemort, according to fanon.
well, i don't know where that's going. it's just my constant "ick", reading "willing molestation" sort of fics. i suppose if you have a high libido, almost anyone turns you on, a little. but still. even people who turn one on. it's not a distant, "oh, ick" if someone you don't want to be with, yet "like", touches you. even if it's your bf, and you just don't want him "that way" anymore. even though it's "ok", them touching you, it's still, like, really really wrong, and you feel soiled and messed up and just, uncomfortable in your own skin. now, if it's your -dad- i bet it's a lot worse than your not-so-hot-anymore bf. now, sure it's ok not to be realistic in fiction. um. i mean, it's "ok", doesn't mean it's good fiction. i pretty much really hate willing molestation stories. unless it's like, hot and heavy and yet -makes sense-. um. well, it's a thin line to walk naturally. say, "from eroica with love", a manga the premise of which i like. it has this really repressed "straight" guy, and a really flamboyant gay guy. now, say they got together. the straight guy wouldn't be 100% with it, willing, i'm pretty sure. but it'd be ok, to me. they'd be doing it (in my kind of story) because there was chemistry. that "something in the air" that was "making them do it", not -one of the people involved- making -the other- do it, see. ugh. nevermind. yick. *erases draco/snape/lucius firmly from her mind*
and now, for something (hopefully) very different....
