~~ le pimpin'.
Aug. 11th, 2004 10:59 pmIt seems like the H/D cuteness is out to get me. I've been kinda anti-fluff lately, but I'm not inhuman, y'know. The little pretty yummies are popping up everywhere! Like... I just read
stellabelle's `Posh Bastards Have More Fun', which is absolutely -priceless-. Omg, almost every sentence is a complete gem of hilarity. I've not read anything this yummy boy-crushy since Silvia last wrote H/D <333333 Wah!
Enmity. Abhorrence. Spite. A complete lack of accordant behavior. Call it what you will. But absolutely do not call it carefully disguised lust, or Draco Malfoy will have your spleen removed from your body with a paring knife.
Omg, I'm so dead. It's been done before, but well... it can never be done enough, when it's this spot-on. Dude. Go. Snicker at the dork!Draco. <3 Yes, we all know he'd want you to.
See, see... I love dork!Draco so much, it's hard to really reconcile myself to the fact that I can't write angstfic with him, y'know. *sigh* The poor boy, he's not well, is he?? <3333333333333333
I just. Can't quite... believe in a non-raging non-wacked Draco. Like... if he's thinking with his, y'know, frontal lobe, what fun is he?? Heh. And also, we already have Snape, don't we? Do we need another character who represses through droll humor? It's kinda sad, I know, 'cause I'm nowhere near this picky with Harry characterizations, say. I think I just... love Draco, but a very specific Draco, whereas with Harry I'm just a slut, pretty much. Is it weird to love a character madly in one form, and kind of despise him in another? Well, that's me and Draco. Canon!Draco can annoy me (but makes me think of ferret!sex at the same time)... but that droll, in-control, non-spazzy ice-prince fanon!Draco... I seriously empathize with
potter_mouth. He needs a boot up his arse. A big boot.
Also, it occurs to me that I'm given to be meaner to straight!Draco than gay!Draco or bisexual!Draco. Hmm. I wonder why. I think it's like... that toppish aggressiveness he does have... if it's not curbed by something (and hopefully it's not Hermione, though that... is a special case, ahahah because all the D/Hr I've read had her being butch and Draco bottoming, and my penchant for Draco!torture emerges). Anyway, ahahah, man. Straight!Draco reminds me of my ex too much, that's what it comes down to; therefore... let's just say I don't hold back...... *issues*
In other news, I'm plotting how to have
potter_mouth's babies even now. The snark needs to grow... to multiply... to live. Muwhahah...ha.
Also: I buckled & did a drawble of girl!Harry, even though I have too much else on my plate to write that right now. It's kinda how s/he was in my head, heheh. I hope it doesn't look too much like Hermione, man ^^;;

EDIT - OMG,
greeksong's H&D-in-a-tree drawble OWNS MY SOUL. :X :X :X :X!!1 Also, I think she just made me love Ron/Draco ♥♥♥♥♥

Date: 2004-08-12 02:18 am (UTC)Read that fic you reccommended, Posh Bastards Have More Fun. Dude. That was sooooo funny, and cute, and cool. :3
I like Draco being an arse, personally. Not Snape-esque dryness, but with a sharp, arrogant wit as pointed as JRK reports his nose and face being, a cynical, pessimistic philosophy and general misogyny. Fun stuff. I like him to be articulate, flighty, fiery-tongued and sulky, the pissy princely prat that he is in the canon combined with the eloquence and grace of Fanon!Draco. There's my beloved obsession, right there. ^_^

Date: 2004-08-13 05:51 am (UTC)Heeee. I dunno why -everyone- doesn't like Draco being an arse. I mean. Bastards are glorious things, as long as you don't have any real daily interaction with them :D
I like him misogynistic & cynical too, though... well, he keeps not giving up on Potter, so he mustn't be -too- cynical, right. That strikes me as more Nott (the clever one)-- though the temptation to make Draco intelligent is great indeed. Heh.
Can you have a graceful arse? o_0
But I know what you mean. I don't want him to be too graceful; he's cuter if his arrogance is mostly unfounded (though not as unfounded as in the books). I think. 'Cause otherwise he's just some misunderstood (yet prickly) prince or something. Heh. Prince!Draco must diiiiiie :D

Date: 2004-08-18 10:14 am (UTC)But-- indeed, that's a question bastard-fans get asked a lot. "He's such an arse! If you met him in person, would you still fangirl over him?" No, he'd just be an arse then, although I'd probably still daydream of him getting shagged by another boy just because he's pretty and acerbic and they could have a beautifully twisted relationship. :D
I think it's not a lower degree of cynicism that makes him pursue Potter, and more simple pride (as our beloved Draco is known, above all else, for his pride-- well, pride and his hair).
^_^ I like Draco to be left misunderstood, but deliberately so on his behalf. I'm a fan of serious, psychological stories, so I love a Draco who's equally dark as well. Or in general, a very 3-Dimensional Draco that's actually written to feel real and human, rather than the continuously 2D version I see so often in fanfics.
And I think you can have a graceful arse. All things are possible in Fandom!Draco. ^_~
