Oct. 21st, 2002 08:32 pmwas laughing out loud and snorting and giggling over
jediginny's post re: a flame some r/hr people sent out to h/hr people. *laughs again* er. anyway. it just got me worried. it all seems so silly-- i mean, really, het `ships in hp bore the winkies out of me-- and debating them-- especially using canon-- as if it being "canon" makes it superior somehow-- is-- well-- erm. very dorky.
on the other hand, i've used this space often to debate, defend, ponder and otherwise pontificate on harry/draco, as a pairing, as a ship, as an ideally painful and beautiful and hilarious and pathetic and hot, baby hot situation for two fictional characters to find themselves in.
*sigh* do i sound just as silly?
it's the same, isn't it.
while obviously i wouldn't thump any canon to prove harry/draco to you (that would be funny)-- and maybe that's what i find so silly about thumping canon for r/hr-- canon being canon, it's not why one `ships, as far as my own personal experience. i still kind of go on and say they're "better" for each other than anyone else and i find other pairings (saaaay, harry/snape) squicky and icky and possibly delusional.
*hangs head in shame*
even as uninterested in the het `ships as i am, i would still marginally support r/hr over h/hr. yes. the shame. the horror. i've even written a r/hr story..! ok, so that was just to use up a plot bunny, but still, still...!
am evil t00b. must cleanse self with non-shippy fic. perhaps i'll write about the price of tea in china.....
~~
rec note: `catching the butterfly'. *sigh* such a great idea. draco as sleeping beauty. gotta luv it. if only the writing was a bit... erm. better, heh. jenwyn has pics of her meeting various fandom's celebrities on her page. i find most of it rather dorky and silly and uninteresting/impressive. but. when i saw her with terry moore (he of the glorious, the amazing, the utterly beautacious `strangers in paradise' comic), i was all squeeee!, and eep~!, and aaaack. i mean, i'd so bounce and bounce and bounce and gush and tell him what a genius he is and how i adore his work and how i'm not worthy to be looking upon his countenance, god that he is, etc etc and so on and so forth. let this be a lesson to me. never let myself come within 50 feet of a celebrity..! i mean, seeing her with james marsters-- was, eh. i can handle actors. i don't worship actors (though seeing tom...oh god. i might die-- *coughs*-- i've been in the bad place waaaay too long ^^;; ha).
EDIT: ....swoooooooooon....! oh. bad, bad, bad place. o_0
