i see what you mean about wanting to break through barriers, i guess i was just saying, if you do it with every character, you have to be careful-- er-- if you want them to still be that character.

harry & hermione & snape & dumbledore are the only ones we have any proof are all that observant, in jkr's world.... and crabbe & goyle... if they're -not- idiots, what personality do they have, otherwise? i guess they're loyal... and you can think that means something... and maybe it does. the difference between seamus the sex kitten and vince the eejit is that the latter is actually canon ^^;;

i find that adding emotional characteristics is a lot easier to remain canon-based doing, than adding mental characteristics. like, you can have two characters be lonely, in love, pissed at each other, depressed, resilient-- etc. but once you add (or subtract) intelligence, somehow something basic changes. weird, isn't it?~:)

but really wasn't meaning to canon-pick, since that seems to really miss the point. was only commenting on the unusual first-person narrative you have, which is more of a third-person-with-personality type thing, sometimes. could be because some of these characters need a lot of exposition before their own personality becomes obvious ^^

hee, anyway. thanks~:) every word that means something to someone, is doubly precious to me.
