well i agree with some of what you said.

although i disagree on other points. i like a little realism in my fantasy, and a little fantasy in my realism. i just feel alot of people do one and not the other. i'm not saying happy endings are bad or sad endings are the way to go. only that beyond a certain point it can't be all cakes and sugar and cozy fireplaces.

i do also think it's a legitimate problem that does harry really want draco, or does he merely want a person he thinks draco could become, and vice versa.

in the end really, it's a reading preference. i just don't want all-happy all-the time, or full on angst. i want a happy medium. that's where i would aim to in my writing and that's what i want to read.

however, yes, in the end, i am a skeptic, about their relationship being doomed. on the other hand, i am also a romantic. i LIKE to read stories that PROVE they can work. My only gripe with most fics, is they don't try to prove it. they don't try to give you reasons to believe in the relationship. all they do is present the package to you and expect you to accept it.

i think we don't know what we can do, and we don't know what's possible, and we don't know the truth and so we can find out.

completely yes. feel what you feel. write what you write. read what you want to. and never let anybody tell you otherwise. i like someone believing h/d can work out in the end.
