yes. this is the day when i've found the first hermione fic i enjoyed. yeay~!

`the language that god speaks'... wow. it made me shiver, completely taken in with the way it was worded and spaced, and everything~! if [livejournal.com profile] eleveninches' are my only bearable ron stories, then this is my first bearable herm story :) this is kind of how i picture her. this is so good, i just want to thank [livejournal.com profile] lizbee.

the mood was definitely reminiscent of how the sandman was, rhythmically, and the flavor of the imagery. it has a sense of Mystery about it. well, enough gushing, then ;p

oh, wait. there's [livejournal.com profile] deepsix's h/d slash... yum, yummy scrumboes. my fave things about stories: subtlety; lots of humor; imagery; a certain amount of attitude; warmth within something chilling; spot-on word-use; a certain self-deprecating romanticism; characterizations i can -feel-; optional: severe hotness, heh. and yah, dey got dat :>

someday not today:
We are not friends. We are not peers. We are not even equals. We are not two halves of the same thing.

I am me and you are you and there are no similarities.

There is no connection between us. There is no overlap. There is only a stark division and a sharp contrast, and we do not complement one another.

I have everything you do not, and you have everything I do not, but the thing is, we have no need of those things. I have no need of you and you have no need of me. We are two separate entities.

I can survive without you. And you can survive without me. If we are cut off from one another, we will flourish and thrive. I have no need for that which I hate.

But perhaps I lie.

too cool! *grins*

i know i have a problem with harry `breaking' and/or `going over to the other side', etc etc. i think this has to do with my idea of heroes-- not like...some silly disneyfied hero who always Saves the Day-- no, more like the hero-with-a-thousand-faces sort of hero. the Protagonist. not the Champion, but just someone who gives us hope, who sort of, goes forth-- he's not extraordinary except in that he's serious about his Journey and his convictions, usually, whatever they are. the hero has what can be called, as his main characteristic, Inner Strength. this is -vital- to who he is. this is basically what makes him win, or makes us want for him to win, or makes him, basically, favored by the gods (and authors everywhere, heh). he's got spunk. he's got fire. he's got a desperate need to prevail, and in the end, he believes in himself enough to do it. he has his trials-- his doubts-- his defeats. it's just he never quits. he is who he is, in stories anyway. i sort of like it that way. to me, harry should be harry, and while he needs room for growth and change and improvement, flexibility, certainly, that core part of his being should be firm. we love him because he's a hero, not in spite of it, right? :) sorta like we love draco because he's a badass, not in spite of it :>
