reenkaSo I was reading this rather over-the-top yaoi manga called LSD, and there's this bad boy character who obsesses with a guy who has this cool facade going on.... Okay, it doesn't matter, it's not that good or anything, it's just that then he thought something that reminded me more of my semi-but-not-quite-lost original, old-skool H/D love than any H/D fic I'd read for ages:
Pretending to be so nonchalant, I'm going to twist that face of yours. Smash your crying, begging face with both my fists --
"Natsume Yuki!"
-- and pull out, whatever you have hidden in your mind.
"I'm going to kill you... you bastard!"
...Aaaaah, sweet nostalgia. *sigh*
...Yeah, so I really hate it when there's any love for the cool facade because... because in my mind, I guess, it's meant to be smashed, broken, -consumed- in the blazing fire of out of control passion. So maybe that means what I really want is to write bodice-rippers.
Who knew?
(Oh, and I'm not trying to draw direct parallels between this & Harry&Draco or anything-- it's more just the er, ambiance. Like... hehe: "Since I'm going to kill you, I might as well enjoy you first!" and "I say you're too chicken to kill anyone!" *swoon* :> :> Er....)
Am almost inspired to write Draco's 'Dear John' letter for when he discovers Harry has still kept in touch with Ginny and hadn't told anyone he was gay, etcetc.... Something like,
Dear, dear Potter,
As I'm sure you have discovered, you no longer have the singular pleasure of my illustrious company, and perhaps (one can but live in hope) you're currently bashing your head into the nearest brick wall and wondering why.
Let me unburden you of the loathsome, onerous responsibility of actual thought once again....
