reenkaFinally! Finally, I've realized what the problem is! YES! :D :D!
I've been feeling guilty that even though my interest in HP is rekindled, especially with the new book coming soon, I'm still a Bitter Old Fanfic Queen-- and worse, I keep wanting to justify it. Like, -this- is why I'm dissatisfied with most H/D fanfic or -this- or -this-. It's like I needed an excuse or something, or I'm a bad, bad fandom member. Ahahah I just realized how much crack I was on. Yeay! Because--
It doesn't matter! See! Brilliance! I don't need to like any fic! *relieved sigh* I don't need to have a reason why I'd rather read something else.
And! I realized I -would-, in fact, rather.
I was looking at yaoi manga pics (a new Shiuko Kano! and omg stuff!!1 prettyboysyeay!!1) and feeling happy. Uncomplicatedly, squeeingly happy. Even Heero/Duo, full of OOCness and really really bad fic, makes me happy 'cause I don't have any real emotional investment in the quality, lack thereof, or my reaction to it. It doesn't have to mean anything if I like or dislike a Heero/Duo story; it either hits my writing/pairing kinks or it doesn't. Omg, it's been so long-- so long since I felt that laid back about HP, but... who cares. I blame fic-meta for everything! Yes, yes I do! :D
What I realized is that I don't have to give the HP fandom either all or nothing; it's the intense focus on things that bother me that drives me to over-notice everything that doesn't work in my head. I don't have to be an obsessive nit-picky fan! YES! *breathes* :D Eureka!
This sense of freedom-- it's so wonderful I could cry. And! A new Buffy/Spike fic by one of my favorite writers, Herself, came out today, yeay! Am happy! So uncomplicated & wonderful <3<3<3

Also, curiosity: what does The Darkest Heart make you think of as a title for a Death Eater!Draco novella? Better or worse (lamer? cheesier? etc) than `The Hanged Man'? Hee. Trying to write. *nodnod*
