an Ode to Viper Boy ♥

I'm sort of drowning in love 'cause Koi ga Bokura wo Yurusu Hani is being posted at yaoi_daily again, and Yamazaki's character type is exactly like Akira from Kaze no Yukue and Ebi Gorou from Adult's Problem by Ima Ichiko. And sooort of like Draco. If you squint. Anyway, looking at Yamazaki's adorable evil little face makes me want to write an ode... an ode to the Foxy Gay Boy (I really need a better name, btw... Foxy Pervert Boy? Fairy Glitter Boy?? The Foxy Fop? The Emotional Viper??). Viper Boy it is, then.

All right, I should talk about who The Boy is:
    - A total and complete liar; he'll be honest about his feelings when frogs rain from the sky, and maybe not even then. Well, he'll be honest about them if/when he finally trusts his lover, which... may take awhile. It'll be extreme when the dam bursts & he'll never do it v. often.
    - Has very -intense- feelings, though. Is good at pining, melodrama and denial. And also acting better-than-thou and generally resentful of the world when insufficiently loved. Perhaps he could best be summed up as 'Come And Love Me Before I Kill You' :> (Sadly-- or thankfully, his clueless lover will never realize this, and will always be desperately afraid the Boy will leave him and/or grow tired of his passionate earnest devotion. *snort*)
    - A fop; he totally struts like no tomorrow, and possibly swings his hips and smokes as he walks. He's probably also pale and somewhat anemic, or at least has some sort of feminine affectation.
    - However, he is v. perverse in every way, and you will get bitten (as in a snake-bite) if you think he's any sort got some sort of soft-and-fuzzy feminine thing. He's evil; I'm NOT kidding. He's totally a manipulative little bitch, and that'll never change (except he's also a fragile, vulnerable little boy inside, so you forgive him-- while still realizing he deserves to be smacked. and often. however, if you get away with it & you're hot, he'll probably fixate on you as his daddy figure, so.)
    - Definitely has a tongue like a viper; has a high capacity for sarcasm, but not really anything too dry, intellectual or subtle-- very in-your-face, leave-you-bleeding waspish directness. He gets away with it 'cause he's good at acting like he doesn't care and picking at people's weak spots.
    - Is likely to be very sensual and physical-- as a tease; in actuality doesn't like to get most people's dirty fingers on him. Flirts a lot though, and might sleep around when in his self-destructive avoidant phase.
    - He's very high-maintenance and wants to be reassured, taken care of, and generally adored, even while he acts like it's nothing and in fact tries to drive his lover away. (Mostly he'll have convinced himself emotions are a weakness and people in love are complete fools-- which basically means he thinks he's a huge fool, not that he'd admit it to himself.)
    - In other words, generally our Boy has a raging inferiority complex hidden beneath the poshly arrogant act. Sometimes this gets to the point of self-hatred, sometimes it's just a complete inability to trust in anyone's good intentions or actual affection towards himself.
    - Generally artsy; tends to be either an actor, an artist, or a designer/entertainer of some sort. Plays/draws for an audience rather for self-satisfaction, and is probably confident in this if nothing else.
    - Emotionally attracted almost exclusively to stable, straight-acting, old-fashioned and principled good-old-boy types who wouldn't spare either the rod or the... uh... other rod. They have a high chance of either breaking his heart or having him leave them first (outside of romances). Possibly has some sort of a daddy fixation, or maybe subconsciously realizes he needs a 'firm hand' or he'll self-combust before 35 :P

I love him in romances... he seems made for gay romances in a way no other character type is, seriously. He needs a man. Even if he were straight (or bi, 'cause straight is just not gonna happen), he still would. However, the real reason I'm obsessed is that moment when he stops being in denial and is like 'omg, I'm in love!! FUCK!'. I think it's sort of existential in the best way. I love watching him suffer as his whole self-constructed fake little universe crumbles. Suffer from having to accept ordinary happiness. God, I love it. ('Cause I'm totally more evil than he is, though most people wouldn't notice, muwahahaha.)

In real life though... man, I'd so kick his ass, just so as he wouldn't get the idea I'm about to be all nurturing to his sorry behind. Yeah, basically I think he should suck it up and/or find his Nice Boy, if he can stay honest enough for 10 seconds. He wouldn't understand, though.

...No, okay, I should be honest myself -.- I love Yamazaki & his viper ilk. <3. He's just so frustrating and evil and sexy and GAY, but it's all for the good :D (Of my entertainment.)
