(let's do the time-warp again)

The suspect:

He rages at the world! He's had a dark, hidden past, where his little sister died and his mother withered away from alcoholism and despair (or something like that)! He's been trained/brainwashed to be a super-secret-ninja/warrior/mage/spy, and now he works for the government! He doesn't talk much, and has a single bookish best friend who bails him out when he forgets to think! He's skinny, short & very focused, and he likes physical activities much more than mental ones. He is completely unaware of any possible physical appeal he might have, but is actually rather gorgeous in a scruffy mad-eyed sort of way. He has no interest in sex, only his far-away True Love (that he prefers to stay away from) and his Mission Of Revenge (which consumes him utterly). He has more testosterone than he knows what to do with, and he's not afraid to use it! Also, he has a Great Destiny which means he will kick your ass even if you've got an unbeatable new weapon that can blow up the World! And even if you're very pretty.


The foil:

He's beautiful, morally suspect and very very girly-- and also often pale (and wistful! and elegant!). He secretly likes flowers, bad angsty poetry, pretty swords/guns/machines and silky things to make him look pretty. He has many small vices, and would be more evil if he could either a) be bothered or b) pull it off with the correct amount of flair. He doesn't walk so much as -glide-, and strut, and swish. He doesn't smile, he smirks & sneers & he leans against the wall a lot, exposing his pale throat and the collarbone visible beneath the open collar of his shirt. He doesn't get close to anybody, distrusts anyone who likes him, doesn't say a sincere word more than once a year, and he has meaningless sex with countless people of both genders. He's quite sure he's a genius, and also that the world sucks and is out to get him. Whenever he comes in contact with The Suspect, they both breathe heavily and circle each other, waiting for the precise exact perfect moment to jump each other and shag till they pass out. Their love is beautifully doomed and also trapped in opposing moral universes.

The Fangirl:

She sustains herself on caffeine and sugar, mostly, stalking pretty imaginary boys and writing & reading stories where they do lots of stuff to embarrass themselves with. She never had enough friends when she was growing up, and she'd read entirely too many romances with swoony girls in them-- one day, she decided that it's really about time the -boys- started swooning, and also pulling each other's hair and acting cleverly disdainful of each other. The fangirl's activities are erratic and hard to predict on the best of days, and her level of coherency and wit depends strongly on the precise anime she's currently watching. Watch out, she -will- step on your foot when she's not looking-- or start babbling about the true love between The Jock & The Criminal-- you simply never know!
