peering at yr awen's fic, it strikes me again. what is the -attraction- of older!draco? is there some correlation between being 24 and up and -writing- about 24 and up? hahaha, well, not for me, obviously. not that i write about 12 year-olds, either. mostly, a matured!draco is an unattractive draco, to me. but that's just me. still, though.
    does that mean they (the writers-- there i go, generalizing again, yep) don't think 15-year-old-dork!draco isn't worth writing about? is boring to write about? isn't sexy enough? isn't a good match for harry? is too difficult to correctly characterize?

( ...erk. i feel like i'm defending younger!draco against older!draco. this is when i know i need a break from reading fanfic, probably, ahahah. )

on the one hand, i think this pic of harry & draco is pretty funny and sort of... i dunno... adorable... or i would, if it wasn't surrounded by the most aggravating homophobic hypocritical comments i've -seen-, or maybe (thankfully), i just don't hang around the right places (i know that's true). gah, and gah, and gah a zillion times over. i'm not -surprised- or anything-- i mean-- i know there are lots of people who think people who like hp slash are like, evil perverts (and not that i'll -deny- being a pervert-- and no one would do more than smirk if i was a purely -hetero- oriented pervert). it's just... so -offensive- to be on the receiving end of just sweeping antipathy.

no one's ever discriminated against something i thought i was or cared about. maybe i just don't pay attention. okay, i lie. i mean, what about the people who bash women and feminists and pagans and queers and russians and jews and the intelligentsia and white people and liberals and... i'm sure i can think of more things. but there's a difference there. i don't really get -as- offended if it's something i -am- (like a girl or a feminist or whatever), because that's just garden-variety prejudice. it's people bashing forward ideas-- that never hurt anyone-- that are founded in the best intentions--

i dunno. how is saying "hp slash is wrong but slash is okay if it's about established gay characters over the age of majority" different from "all slash is wrong and gay people are the scum of the earth"?
    ( ...at this point, i get all pissy... )

on a happier note, the artist of that pic, mel miller, has a comic art section of her website, with some really adorable images. this cartoon from Mad Magazine being the cutest thing :D plus, i can't hold it against -her-, since her draco is just delicious ~:) *pervs all over picture, so nyah!*
