*laughs* i'm a huge snob (or rather, i'm "sensitive") when it comes to purplish writing, and also, vampires. eh. not that i dislike vampires, but the whole gig with them being romantically dark and death-obsessed and eternally beautiful and sexy is just kind of lame (to me). don't like werewolf stories either (oooh, look at the sexy wild beast and his angst-- no.) too much of a hormonal fantasy.
although elves & fairies are -my- hormonal fantasy, thankfully, not so much for other people, so i'm safe >:D< ahahahah. i like lestat. i even skimmed the first book before the movie (couldn't read it). usually i don't read books for the theme or any particular character. or even the plot, unless it's a fairy-tale related plot. i'm always in it for the overall characterization and writing quality. though man, what bullshit, i can't say that, i've read mercedes lackey. i have no excuse. i must be purged ><;;
*laughs* it's a conundrum. who's worse? mercedes lackey or anne rice? at least mercedes has........... horses! she has magical horses! i love magical horses! there you go, an unbiased judgement :D
