Well probably because fanfic generally isn;t an intellegentsia(intellectual elite at least in my minds eye of the moment) type concept. And that's what I perceive this to be on its surface. I'm definitely not saying its right or better (as I doubt she or most other "open-minded" people would.
I guess its just seeing the joke from the other side.. its funny that it seems that often enough this approach can often deaden the amount of thoughtful discourse by being highbrow above the stuff that they don't believe in. It would be better to not go to far from cannon in thoughts than to perhaps possibly stray (or maybe become beyond the limited shell of cannon) go toward something truly beautiful and meaningful like I believe the best of the fanfic community achieves.
But I talk ktoo much. But I guess I found it funny too.. just in a diffenernt way. Did I get this across?
And the antislash thing I was responding more to the member of the forementioned group above who was writing in wonderment that the group was considered an antislash party. And I think they're more prudish towards all forms of sex (not cannon enough (yet) and too mature for a wide range of audiences (not pg/G rated, etc). In short they seem more provanilla than anti slash.
They might ne more than all that. They might be the answer to all life's questions since I only glanced at mediumly.
But by its form it appears that. And I guess it just seemed a bit untruth to say they were antislash.
Anyway. Back to the shadows I shoudl bound because I'm sure I said wayyyyyy more than anyone would want from me.
